Project summary

The FEMPOWER project aims to build and strengthen female leadership skills and empower young women within the innovative work-based learning environment of the Practice Enterprise. By developing a Female Leadership and Empowerment Mini-Course Programme, FEMPOWER will build on leadership skills training, address gender stereotypes, raise awareness of gender-based discrimination and youth participants will be better equipped to emerge as socially responsible leaders and understand new HR trends and labour market expectations. A series of specialized mini-courses will be developed with topics ranging from personal branding, cultural awareness, critical and design thinking to negotiation techniques and motivational talks support young (female) Practice Enterprise trainees in developing their skill sets and helping them to become self-aware, confident, resilient and gain self-efficacy. The aim is to prepare today’s youth to become leaders of tomorrow. The innovative FEMPOWER Mini-Course Programme will advance the inclusivity and flexibility of more than 5,000 Practices Enterprises operating in schools and youth centres across Europe and thereby, enable young women and men to become vocal advocates of equality and inclusivity and become better active citizens. The focus will be on creating a programme within the Practice Enterprise with a blend of priorities such as leadership skills, digitalization and a high focus on the inclusion of marginalized groups. This project allows the target group themselves - youth, and in particular young women, to be involved in the process of creating the project outcomes. The trainees’ perspective will become a building block of the created outcomes as the target groups best understand the current gaps in career guidance to formulate the current perspectives on the job hiring and labour market realities - and will make the FEMPOWER programme future-proof, relevant and realistic.
