Project summary

Migration flows and refugee crisis have highlighted the importance to intensify the cooperation among EU member states and countries of Western Balkans and MENA Region for human rights protection and social inclusion of these vulnerable groups, whom youth represent 45% of the population (UNHCR data 2020). In particular, organizations in partner countries work with young refugees offering them social services, especially informal schools , providing animation services in the camps and own facilities, visiting the families to collect data about health needs. The recent pandemic however limited strongly the possibility to deliver these services; the difficulty to maintain social distances in camps/facilities, the lack of access to on line tools for education, the limited mobility were all factors deteriorating the already fragile background of these young people with an increasing rate of anxiety, depressive behaviours, disenchantment . This background pushed partners organization to reinforce their competences, elaborating new methods to re-activate sense of purpose and offer to these refugees the possibility to discover and express their talents as first step for their successful integration in the society. This will be done investing on young people members of partner organizations as multipliers and facilitators and counting on the expertise of artistic operators in delivering workshops for vulnerable youth For this reason the project plan will foresee: - Training sessions to increase the capacity to carry out Arts workshops for young refugeees and face intercultural differences - On line Exchange about National and local policies about migration flows - The implementation of local Arts workshops in all partner countries The project will involve 8 partners from EU member states (IT, ES), Western Balkans (Bosnia), Mena region (Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria) forming 48 young people who will constitute local team capable to deliver workshops for 400 young refugees
