The Master in Membrane Engineering for Sustainable Development, MESD, offers an advanced education programme related to membrane science and engineering at the interface between material science and chemical engineering. It involves 7 HEI of 6 European countries: University of Twente (The Netherlands) UT, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal), NOVA, Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain), UNIZAR, University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (Czech Republic), UCT Prague, University Toulouse III Paul Sabatier (France), UT3, Lund University (Sweden), ULUND; and Université de Montpellier, UM, coordinating organization, France. Institute on Membrane Technology, CNR-ITM, Italy; Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, KU Leuven, Belgium and Università della Calabria, UNICAL, Italy are associated partners. Main objectives: -to expand knowledge and educate students in Membrane Engineering in order to provide outstanding students to be inserted in the industry or in academic research. Therefore, the first year of the master is focused on acquiring membrane materials, membrane engineering and project management in membrane technologies skills. -to promote excellence, innovation, mobility and diversity in high-quality courses related to membrane science and engineering at the interface between material science and chemical engineering. -to address environmental and sustainability challenges and to provide effective membrane-based solutions in the fields of Energy, Food, Bio and Health, and Water. Summer schools and weekly seminars complete the curriculum. The MESD has a duration of two years: 4 semesters corresponding to 30 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) each and spent in at least 3 different countries. The language of instruction is English. During the study period, courses and activities in the language and culture of the country are provided. Students are awarded with a multiple Master's degrees from the three hosting universities with a Diploma Supplement.
