Five European universities, members of the SEA-EU European University alliance, are proposing to develop a joint Master degree in the sustainable management of organisations. This is meant to develop expertise amongst current and future cadres of managerial personnel, such that these can better cope with working in unsettling times. Uncertainty, decarbonisation, and digitalisation are some of the challenges - and opportunities - now facing decision-makers and leaders in the industry, the public sector and civil society. We wish to work together to create a joint framework to enhance cooperation at all levels thereby putting our shared SEA-EU ideals into practice, allowing academics, students and administrators to join in a shared Master programme. Our firm desire to innovate comes through in terms of the context (SEA-EU), subject matter (transversal & innovative), but also in our willingness to choose a new pedagogy to underline our commitment to using skills-based learning and micro-credentials to make ourselves not only competitive but also attractive. Once finalised this project could benefit a total student base of 100,000 students currently on our campuses, as well as attract life-long learning students from the areas local to student campuses. This will help us to ensure that mobility options are for the many, not the few, and all students who take a course inside this master will boost their employability and future-proof their skills. Thus, we propose an exciting learning scenario and innovative curriculum that is inspired by green and blue credentials - hence turquoise - and informed by the lessons and evidence of being coastal universities, trying to live sustainably with, by and for the sea.
