Challenges for Transport in Europe are still related to the high levels of congestion, CO2 emissions, noise and air pollution, but are also about ensuring sustainable deployment of new disruptive technologies. Coordination between different key stakeholders and accessibility for all are considerable challenges in the digital era. As for the solutions, there are still some barriers to overcome, but also an extensive list of related opportunities. Recommendations focus on more integrated planning for transportation, interconnection of several modes, energetic mix and better governance mechanisms to improve policy coordination. This project aims to develop a European Network for education at a Master’s level for Smart Solutions for Transport and Logistics Management. Based on strong existing partnerships between Germany, France and Spain, the consortium project gives the opportunity to share complementary expertise in green initiatives for transport as Decarbonization, Urban Mobility and Quantitative Methodologies for more optimized and integrated transport. To develop digital skills and promote smart transport, the consortium has been extended to new partners and experts in Eastern and Southern Europe with Universities of Luxembourg, Porto and Zagreb. Also, the transition to a greener transport needs to be underpinned by changes to qualifications and international education and training curricula to meet emerging professional needs for green skills and sustainable development in Europe. This project aims to become a reference of excellence in education and research in Europe.
