Project summary

Environment and climate action are key priorities for the EU now and in the future. The European Green Deal Communication recognizes the key role of schools, training institutions and universities to engage with pupils, parents and the wider community on the changes needed for a successful transition to become climate neutral by 2050. The development of an Innovative Joint Master in ‘Sustainable and Resilient Pavement Engineering’ for future multidisciplinary engineers in a changing and sustainable society through the introduction of sustainable, smart, resilient pavement and materials, processes and management should underpin this strategy. Specific objectives: ▪ To design an innovative Joint Master in ‘Sustainable and Resilient Pavement Engineering’ of 120 ECTS credits which meets the requirements of an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master ▪ To offer to students the opportunity to acquire all necessary competences that they need to build their own study paths ▪ To implement the Joint Master in Europe (Belgium, Italy and Portugal) and India ▪ To offer to excellent engineering students from all over the world mobility and work opportunities within EU and beyond ▪ To establish a network with Industry and other stakeholders to meet the demands of the labour market and society in general Target groups: ▪ Engineering students, educators, researchers, young professionals working with smart pavement and pavement infrastructure, exploring different disciplines, and using new IT- technologies, materials and technical skills as possible resources. ▪ It will also have an impact universities’ scientific, pedagogical and quality committees, universities, companies, governmental bodies, society in general Expected results: ▪ Better qualified graduates with international and multicultural experience, meeting the needs of universities and industry for future engineering challenges, contribution to social inclusion and climate change in EU and beyond.
