The Erasmus Mundus Design Measures Master Degree in Chemistry of Natural Bioactives - Bio.Natural is a 2-year international programme built up by 3 Universities and 1 research institution from 3 European countries: Lusófona University - COFAC/ULHT (PT); Università degli Studi di Siena - UNISI (IT); Zagreb University - UniZG (HR); and, Ruđer Bošković Institute - RBI (HR). Bio.Natural will be entirely taught in English and it will lead to a multiple master’s degree diploma. The master’s in Chemistry of Natural Bioactives - Bio.Natural, aims to be an innovative project with the objective of training competitive specialists, oriented towards innovation, suitable for the development and commercialization of bioactive products from natural sources. It also aims to address innovative strategies with various applications, including pharmaceuticals, dermocosmetics, medical devices, and dietary supplements. Students will do a 3 multi-location study at the consortium Universities. The modular rotation will begin in the 1st semester at COFAC-ULHT (PT), where the students will learn about natural products chemistry. The 2nd semester at UNISI (IT) will focus on topics such as computational studies and nanotechnology. In the 3rd semester (UniZG, HR), biological studies focused on the molecular level will be carried out in Croatia. For the final master dissertation (4th semester), the students can choose an institution from the Consortium or one of the partner institutions. this proposal aims to learn the solid domain of chemistry applied to natural products as a basic tool and essential knowledge for the promotion and application of natural bioactives; the student is also able to undertake an academic specialization with research and innovation activities, providing a focused vision of their potential use in multiple fields; for the development of innovative technologies and research that will create new jobs and sustainable businesses.
