Background and objectives: Health and social care systems are in constant transition aiming to provide quality and accessible health information and services in times of large demographic, environmental and epidemiological changes. Their sustainability is challenged as the scarcity of resources threatens the future ability of systems in many countries around the world to provide the current level of services. We need to do more and better while using less. This calls for a different way of thinking. The objective of this project is to design and build a joint Master's programme in Health Equity, MaHEQ. The master program will be new and innovative and provide the consortium with a modern curriculum. The consortium consists of three Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and one NGO providing the program with an unique possibility to combine theory- and practice-based learning. Activities: 1) Design of a joint master study program. This includes curriculum and pedagogical strategy. 2) Develop joint study administration and management 3) Develop student and partner agreements 4) Quality assurance and national accrediation process We aim to design a value-based curriculum, where students build competence in acting based on core values building our society, such as social and health justice, ontological security, values underlying the human rights etc. In this program, students will design their own learning paths and we aim to provide all students with at least one period of internship. HEIs can benefit from the development of a joint program and a joint management plan, and also from thepedagogical strategy. We expect these to be transferrable to several other educational programs. From the four activities, we expect to produce 12 deliverables, including reports describing curriculum, course plan, pedagogical strategy, strategies for recruitment and admission, agreements, quality assurance etc. The collection of these will constitute the accreditation package.
