FACT Design Measures is an initiative aimed at designing and structuring an international Masters programme in Fashion, Costume and Technology, which seeks an original approach supported by new and innovative teaching methodologies. It is a project that also seeks to break away from traditional training approaches to costume design and its alliance with fashion and expands to highly innovative dimensions where digital technologies are an imperative. FACT goes beyond a traditional vision of Fashion Design or Costume Design as it allies technology to a creative process where the areas of Fashion and Cinema come together in a contemporary reading of the creative process for the development of costume proposals that reinforce the narrative of films, theatre, music, video games, animation. It is a multidisciplinary training that aims to find innovative pedagogies for the training of professionals with an aggregating knowledge of different media areas. Fashion has created a relationship of complicity with the world of cinema since its emergence, not only because film stories are made up of characters who have to dress up, build an image, to give structure and veracity to "the puppet" of the character itself, but also because it is a vehicle for advertising with a vast social reach. Couturiers, designers, costume designers collaborated with the major Hollywood and European studios (Portugal included), bringing fashion creativity to the world of cinema, through current trends or a past that concerned the plot of the film in question.
