VET4CHAINS is a multilateral partnership project between organizations active in the field of VET in Germany, Spain, Colombia, and Mexico. It focuses on enhancing VET Excellence in Work-Based Learning (WBL) to enable SME transitions to Sustainable Value Chains in the Automotive Industry in Latin America and Europe. To achieve this, the project will develop and test international and high-quality WBL training solutions to support the professional development of VET professionals and employees of small and medium-sized enterprises in the automotive sector of participating countries. As part of the WBL program, the project will develop the ECVET Curriculum on supporting WBL Excellence in Sustainable Value Chains, will create cutting-edge open online educational training contents and digital resources that will be combined with traditional classroom content (blended-learning approach). The project will also create an LA-EU Community of Practice in WBL Excellence that will considerably magnify the impact of the outcomes reached. The project structure has been organized into three functional areas, plus two operative transversal ones related to project management (WP1) and to impact, dissemination, and sustainability (WP5). The three functional areas address the creation of the Community of Practice (WP2), the development of the ECVET Curriculum on supporting WBL in Sustainable Value Chains (WP3), and the creation of an Online Open Learning Hub (WP4). Each of these three WPs assembles a cohesive collection of activities, resources, and programs to give a coordinated response to the present needs and future problems highlighted by the consortium's partners in their respective areas. VET4Chains is comprised of partners who have worked with VET in past initiatives to create and foster an International Collaboration Network. Thus, this initiative contains a substantial component of intercultural interaction and best practices between Latin America and Europe.
