Project summary

Aim of the Chemteach project is to improve chemistry teaching via education and training of VET teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This will be achieved through transfer of know-how between teachers from Slovakia and Czech Republic to Bosnian teachers. Within this project, a network between VET teachers and private sectors e.g. chemistry companies will be created, so the gap between VET education and chemical company’s needs will be filled. Several courses, trainings, guidance and counselling from EU VET teachers and Bosnian private sector employees will be provided for VET teachers. Within the proposed project, teaching material containing explanation of theory in chemistry through everyday life or activities, together with the alternative and so-called green experiments that can be performed with minimum budget will be created. This material will be not only as helping guide for teachers and students, but will also include specified needs of chemistry companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina that will be defined by the companies itself. Teaching material will be created by Bosnian VET teachers with professional guidance, counselling and coaching of EU VET teachers. This will result in better competences of VET teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina to prepare the change of the curricula that meets the criteria set in the EU, as well as private sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
