Learning for a Sustainable Future - Higher Education for Green Transition in Southeast Asia (GreenEdAsia) is a comprehensive initiative aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and promoting green practices through the medium of higher education in the Southeast Asian region. This visionary project recognizes the critical role that education plays in shaping future leaders and decision-makers who are environmentally conscious and equipped to tackle the challenges of climate change and sustainability. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the green transition in Vietnam and Thailand through strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions to train a skilled and innovative workforce in the fields of circular bioeconomy and renewable energy. At the heart of this initiative is the development of an innovative curriculum that integrates sustainable development principles into various academic disciplines. The curriculum is designed to be multidisciplinary, incorporating elements to provide students with a holistic understanding of the challenges and solutions related to environmental sustainability. GreenEdAsia aims at sustainable results by involving institutional management to create institutional implementation plans. The project also includes training programs for educators, ensuring partner institutions with the competence to deliver the redesigned curriculum beyond the project timeline. The project emphasises the importance of practical, hands-on learning experiences. This is achieved through collaboration with local industries, and government bodies, providing students with opportunities to engage in real-world projects that contribute to the green transition in their communities. These experiences not only enhance learning but also foster a sense of responsibility and engagement in environmental issues.
