Project summary

For several decades, higher education in Guinea has been facing a number of structural challenges, all converging on the issue of graduate employability. In Guinea, higher education graduates are the most likely to be unemployed, mainly due to a mismatch between their skills and the expectations of companies. To address this issue, the GRAINES project aims to transform the Labé-Mamou-Conakry axis into a hub for the creation of skilled employment opportunities, through the development of innovation, employability and community service centers attached to higher education establishments. Project activities aim to make the innovation centers operational, and to integrate them into local, national and international networks. The ultimate aim is to disseminate the best practices of this process in its entirety, in order to benefit as many structures as possible, in the Foutah Djallon region, in Guinea and even more widely on the African continent. To achieve this, the project draws on the vision, dynamism and determination of two Guinean higher education establishments: the University of Labé and the Mamou Higher Institute of Technology, together with their associate partner, Guinea's Kofi-Annan University, on the one hand, and on the skills and experience of their European partners: the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the University of Liège, on the other.
