Project summary

MSC IN INTENSIVE AND PERIOPERATIVE CARE Within this nursing profession there are different areas of specialization, such as intensive and perioperative care. Both areas are essential to ensure the quality and safety of care, as well as to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. The Master's Degree in Intensive and Perioperative Care aims to prepare graduates in nursing for the development of their professional practice in the operating room and intensive care services, two very important areas in any health institution. Graduates of the Master's program will have high-level knowledge, skills and competencies grounded in evidence-based practice, competencies necessary to work in multidisciplinary clinical and academic settings. The program will provide practical skills in major ambulatory surgery units, operating rooms and intensive care units. The project is being developed by a consortium of three different EU universities (Spain, Greece and Cyprus), with lectures and seminars given by both academics of the highest scientific level and healthcare professionals. These universities have high rates of nursing graduates annually, who could benefit from this training. In fact, there are 4.45 million nurses within the borders of the EU, which is 2.2% of the labor muscle of the EU as a whole. Therefore, students will benefit from a high-level scientific environment on all campuses and will have the opportunity to combine theoretical courses with clinical practice and initiation of research, participating in real research studies within the consortium. In terms of career prospects, graduates will be candidates for both PhDs and relevant positions in hospitals, specializing in two important clinical areas. In addition, the clinical internships provided by the partners will allow students to create connections that will guarantee their further professional development.
