The green transition and the digital transformation together with pressing questions on global and environmental justice and sustainability lead to new demands on the labor markets all throughout Europe and beyond, which national and international, governmental and non-governmental organizations have to cope with. The new EMJM program “Social Psychology of Transformation: Understanding and Mastering Social Change” (SPOT) was set up by a consortium consisting of the University Institute of Lisbon, the universities of Padua, Tallinn, Nis/Serbia, Sarajevo and Banja Luka and coordinated by the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin. It addresses these labor market needs, fills the gap within the EHEA and trains a new generation of qualified psychologists - practitioners and researchers - with broad knowledge and skills in the relevant focus areas within the framework of a fully integrated two-year 120 ECTS study course. Based on its focal points “Transformative Leadership”, “Conflict and Cooperation” and “Environment and Social Sustainability”, the new European master prepares future experts on current transformation processes in the fields of work, society, and environment from a psychological, multi-level, interdisciplinary, and transcultural perspective. Thus, the new Master program contributes to the objectives of enabling European education without boundaries, promoting European values, and further internationalising und modernising all involved higher education institutions. Future graduates will be equipped with important skills in understanding these challenges and their interrelations and acquire the ability to master societal transformations as future leaders. The consortium expects up to 130 graduates from Europe and overseas during the first four intakes.
