Sexuality is a crucial aspect of human experience. Different professionals in different settings (e.g., healthcare, education, policymaking) may be called to intervene in an enormous diversity of sexuality-related issues (e.g., to improve people’s sexual health and sexual rights). However, sexuality is often absent from undergraduate degrees' syllabi, hindering professionals from acting on an evidence-based basis. Misinformation, prejudice, and myths persist in professional practices related to sexuality, limiting their exposure to basic topics and developing research skills. A European master's level in sexology could address these and other shortcomings by creating a network of shared knowledge and opening new avenues for learning and training. The EMSEX master program will be transdisciplinary, accepting licensed professionals from any field to have contact with sexuality topics and acquire applied research skills. Developing a European master’s level will enable the creation of a network of shared, evidenced-based knowledge and open new avenues in learning and training in this field. The consortium, consisting of the University of Lusófona, the University of Malmö, and the University of Almeria, leveraging diverse expertise from disciplines such as psychology, medicine, sociology, and education. The consortium will share resources, promote an interdisciplinary approach, optimize resource utilization, facilitate student and faculty mobility, and establish quality assurance mechanisms. Networking opportunities will lead to joint research projects, publications, and professional development. The program aims to enhance visibility, attract high-quality participants, and capitalize on each institution's strengths to deliver a comprehensive and cutting-edge program in sexology. This program will help overcome existing inequalities in education and combat prejudice and misinformation in the field of human sexuality.
