Project summary

TVET plays a pivotal role in meeting the dynamic needs of the contemporary workforce. Forging a strategic alliance between African and European countries, the project seeks to modernize and improve vocational training in Cameroon, Burkina Faso, and Benin, bridging the gap between VET provision and the labour market; thereby significantly contributing to the enhancement of VET provision, better reach of company needs and sustainable growth and job opportunities for learners in Africa. The current project builds upon four years of successful cooperation within the unprecedented SAAM (Supporting Alliance for African Mobility) Pilot mobility scheme project. It aims to further strengthen the achievements of SAAM, involving diverse spectrum of stakeholders active in the field of VET in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Spain, Italy and France. With a specific focus on enhancing VET provision in the electricity sector and fostering Work-Based Learning and internationalisation, the project aligns with the broader objective of the EU-Africa Global Gateway Investment Package, seeking to support African countries in providing modern, quality education and training that corresponds to the opportunities available at the labour market, facilitating youth mobility, and fostering innovative solutions to enhance teachers’ competences and skills. The general aims of the project are to: - Reinforce the links between vocational education and training and the labour market, by aligning VET curricula with companies needs - Improve the quality of VET provision in electricity sector, while integrating the digital and green transitions. - Strengthen the competences, skills, and employability potential of VET learners and improve integration into the world of work - Strengthen the knowledge, and pedagogical skills of VET managers, teachers and in-company tutors via trainings and sharing of good practices - Embed an internationalisation mindset and reinforce the capacities of VET providers.
