The difficulties Agro-TVET graduates faced in finding employment stem partly from the mismatch between supply and demand in the labour market of the Agricultural sector. Also, graduates have low capacity to apply their knowledge and skills to self-employment such that they expend their energies trying to find non-existent jobs in other sectors after graduation. Attempts to bridge the gap in the supply of human resources to the agro-based SMEs have not been successful due to weaknesses in collaboration between ATVET institutes and agro-based enterprises. The goal of ATCG is “to improve the employability of graduates, particularly females and youth from vulnerable and marginalized, from Agricultural colleges and farm institutes by closing the labour market supply and demand gap in the Agricultural sector.” The ATCG project establishes an Employment and Incubation Centre (EIC) to match supply and demand at the labor market. The match-making opportunities for young graduates and job seekers will lead to smoother and larger flow of graduates to a job market opportunity. Besides, the EIC pays special attention to women and vulnerable groups. The EIC offers a platform where supply and demand are brought together and short courses that prepare women and vulnerable groups in entrepreneurship, soft and job-readiness skills. The course is an adequate preparation to take part in social and working life through the operationalization of the EntreComp and LifeComp models. We embed digital tools in the EIC and in entrepreneurship training to keep up with modern day approaches to entrepreneurship and make Agricultural entrepreneurship more attractive and resilient. Supporting youth in the early, precarious phases of starting a business through the development of business development advisory services will build self-confidence and address the low self-esteem menace confronting ATVET graduates and entrepreneurs.
