Latin America's vast coastline and significant population dependency on ocean resources underscore the importance of the blue economy. Colombia and Chile, with strategic coastal access, are key players in this sector, yet face challenges in capacity building and collaboration. Insufficient cooperation between Latin American and European vocational training institutions in blue economy topics is evident, hindering progress. This project aims to address these gaps by fostering international cooperation, enhancing vocational training, and bridging the gap between educational institutions and the job market. Specific objectives include co-designing tools with European partners, providing capacity-building training, promoting curriculum development, facilitating industry partnerships, and disseminating best practices. Measurable indicators will track progress, including the creation of a Learning Management System, completion rates of training programs, execution of pilot programs, industry stakeholder engagement, and dissemination reach. The project leverages past experiences of consortium partners, emphasizing innovation and transnational collaboration. By strengthening vocational training and fostering industry partnerships, the project seeks to empower individuals, promote sustainable practices, and address gender inequalities. Ultimately, it aims to advance the blue economy, enhance environmental sustainability, and stimulate economic growth in Colombia and Chile, with potential for broader impact and replication in other regions.
