The GreenShift initiative, targeting the Amazon regions of Peru and Bolivia, presents a groundbreaking approach to vocational education and training (VET) in sustainable mining practices. This project addresses the urgent regional need for eco-friendly and ethically responsible mining methods, and the diversification of skills for sustainable economic activities, directly aligning with the thematic areas of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in VET call. GreenShift will be a digital learning/upskilling platform that aims to bridge the gap between the supply and demand of green talent in the Amazonian region of Peru and Bolivia, with a strong focus on the field of mining. The platform will enable formal and informal mine workers of the Amazonian area of Peru and Bolivia, and their surrounding community, to acquire the most demanded green skills for the most demanded roles in their regions and communities. The platform will also support people who want to create their green jobs by providing them with digital and entrepreneurial skills and resources. GreenShift will provide education, awareness, and guidance on regional policies, incentives, and networks that support the green transition. It will work in training both, trainers and students. GreenShift will offer innovative and flexible learning solutions that increase the quality, access, and recognition of green skills, especially for people without a university degree. The platform will feature green learning paths, which are tailored learning programs for specific green roles that combine online courses, practical exercises, mentoring sessions, and peer feedback.
