Project summary

The HEVEN project aims to enhance TVET education in Nepal by developing a Master's Programme in TVET education and training. This initiative targets both teacher educators and pre-service teachers, focusing on marginalized communities. Key outputs include professional development outreach, a postgraduate certificate in vocational education, in-service teacher training, and transformative leadership programs. The project also emphasizes policy development dialogue to establish frameworks for credit accumulation, recognition of prior learning, and change management processes. By addressing the skills gap, meeting the demand for skilled workers, improving education quality, and promoting entrepreneurship, the project seeks to support economic growth, reduce poverty, and enhance social mobility in Nepal. Collaborative efforts with JAMK and SAXION will further strengthen the capacity of TU, KU, and NOU to deliver relevant and accessible higher education. The project will benefit approximately 450 teacher educators and pre-service teachers initially, with a broader impact on thousands of students and educators across Nepal. Expected results include improved teaching quality, increased enrollment in TVET programs, and enhanced employability of graduates. Key activities involve curriculum development, training sessions, infrastructure improvements, and policy dialogues. The project will produce several outputs, including a Master's curriculum, training manuals, online learning platforms, and policy frameworks. These efforts will collectively contribute to a more robust and responsive TVET system in Nepal, aligning education with labor market needs and fostering sustainable development.
