The Innovative Learning Methodologies for Cooperation and Optimization of Teaching in São Tomé and Príncipe [+ COESÃO] project aims to promote the development of competencies for Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in higher education, with an emphasis on strategic areas for São Tomé and Príncipe – health and education. This will be achieved through the transformation of the curricular models that support the teaching and learning of these professionals. Considering that the project 'European Virtual Nursing Center for Evidence-Based Practice Learning (ENCLEBP)', led by the University of Murcia under the Strategic Partnerships measure, created conditions for the acquisition and improvement of competencies in Evidence-Based Practice through self-learning, the aim now is: i) in the field of Nursing, to replicate the training methodology of the project in the specific context of Nursing education in São Tomé and Príncipe; and ii) in the field of Teacher Education, to adapt the same methodological tools within a pilot study. The project, as it has among its objectives 'to promote the supply and adoption of competencies in the fields of science' and 'to support the improvement of competencies of the young population', is therefore aligned with the priorities of the action and the program, particularly in the region/country targeted by the project - São Tomé and Príncipe, simultaneously responding to the 'current gap between school results and labour market demands'.
