This project is an initiative led by the European University of Technology (EUt+) consortium, comprising eight European universities, in collaboration with a Ukrainian partner. This EMDM proposal aims to develop an innovative, interdisciplinary, and international master's program that equips students with the skills necessary to drive the digital transformation of mechanical engineering while addressing sustainability challenges. The rapid integration of digital technologies such as AI, the IoT, automation, and data-driven manufacturing is reshaping the field of mechanical engineering. Simultaneously, there is an urgent need to align engineering practices with global sustainability goals, reducing environmental impact while improving efficiency. MechDiTS responds to these challenges by designing a joint curriculum that merges cutting-edge digital competencies with sustainable engineering solutions. The program will be highly international, fostering student and faculty mobility across EUt+ universities and beyond. It will integrate multilingual education, ensuring accessibility while maintaining European linguistic and cultural diversity—a key ambition recognized by the European Commission in its feedback on EUt+ as an exceptionally ambitious alliance. The project will develop cost-effective course structures, ensuring that the program remains financially and academically sustainable beyond the EU funding period. MechDiTS will target a diverse student body. It will incorporate new research partnerships, blended learning approaches, and industry collaborations to maximize impact. Dissemination efforts will leverage web platforms, social media, and academic networks to promote the program globally. Through this initiative, MechDiTS will not only enhance mechanical engineering education in Europe but also contribute to the global transition toward digitalized, sustainable industries, reinforcing Europe's leadership in technological solutions.
