Project summary

The "Transforming Ukrainian Agricultural Education for the Digital Era" (TUADIG) project aims to modernise vocational education and training (VET) in Ukraine's agricultural sector. It introduces simulation-based learning and the use of immersive learning materials (XR) to enhance VET student skills and employability. The initiative addresses critical gaps in the Ukrainian agricultural education system, such as outdated curricula and insufficient digital learning tools, which are exacerbated by ongoing conflict and rapid industry changes. By improving the quality and relevance of VET offerings and aligning them with European standards, TUADIG prepares students for the evolving agricultural sector demands. Key focus of TUADIG is on the professional development of VET teachers, equipping them with advanced educational technologies and methodologies. This includes training how to create and use digital tools such as simulations and XR technologies essential for teaching modern agricultural techniques, thus enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality, industry-relevant education. The project is led by a consortium of European and Ukrainian educational institutions. The Ylä-Savo Municipal Federation of Education (YSAO, FI) coordinates the project, with significant contributions from JAMK University of Applied Sciences (JAMK UAS, FI), Vidzeme Technology and Design Vocational School (VTDT, LT), and Järvamaa kutsehariduskeskus (JHKH, EE). Ukrainian partners such as the State Educational Institution "Berdychiv Higher Vocational School", VPU №24, SEI “Lisovodsky PAL”, and MEI “ACTRW” DRC provide local insights and adapt the project's strategies to meet Ukraine's specific educational and agricultural challenges. Together, these partners create a scalable model for upgrading agricultural VET across Ukraine, benefitting from each other's strengths to foster a robust educational framework.
