Project summary

The project aims to enhance capacity building in Vocational Education and Training (VET) within rural areas in Albania and Kosovo, with a specific focus on the agri-food sector. Led by a training institution from Italy with extensive experience in transnational programs, the initiative engages public and private partners to promote self-entrepreneurship as a tool for sustainable economic growth and social inclusion. The project needs analysis of rural areas in Albania and Kosovo, which reveal untapped potential in the agri-food sector and the necessity to create job opportunities to combat economic and social marginalization. A critical issue identified is the lack of specialized skills for enhancing local resources, adopting sustainable practices, and leveraging digital technologies to foster innovation and competitiveness in the agri-food industry. To address these challenges, the project focuses on work-based learning, green and digital skills, which are essential for developing and managing sustainable local enterprises. Through the adoption of innovative teaching methodologies and strong collaboration with the private sector, the project aims to train a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of sustainably and competitively utilizing local resources. The project activities combine e-learning, practical workshops, and internships in agri-food companies. Special attention is given to the development of educational tools for business management, digital marketing, and environmental sustainability, alongside mentorship programs to support participants in launching their own businesses. Transnational exchanges between Albania, Kosovo, and EU countries will facilitate knowledge-sharing and the creation of collaborative networks in the agri-food sector. The 24-month project is structured into five Work Packages (WPs), covering activity planning, monitoring, impact evaluation, and dissemination to ensure long-term sustainability.
