The CRAVT Project seeks to strengthen VET capacities in Moldova and Ukraine in the crafts sector as a relevant driver for cultural, social and economic development in the region. It will develop innovative digital teaching materials tailored for VET providers and business development solutions that would foster economic opportunities and social resilience in disadvantaged areas of the two countries. Furthermore, it enhances intercultural collaboration and specialized knowledge exchange between VET institutions, research centers, SMEs, and NGOs from EU countries and the Eastern Neighborhood. Through a collaborative and inclusive framework, the project will create and implement tailored VET curricula that blend traditional knowledge with contemporary business practices, work-based experience with digital tools. Key activities include crafts and heritage research, comprehensive teacher training programs, cross-border workshops, and the establishment of an online resource and training platform. A particular focus will be placed on empowering rural and underprivileged communities in Moldova and Ukraine which are the poorest in Europe by promoting traditional crafts as sustainable sources of income, drivers of cultural tourism, and pillars of cultural resilience. Additionally, Ukrainian refugees with craft expertise residing in Romania and Moldova will play an active role as both trainers and trainees, thus promoting their cultural and economic resilience.
