Project summary

This project focuses on building capacity in vocational education and training (VET) to enhance regenerative and resilient bio-production in the Western Balkans. It addresses the region’s challenges in sustainable agricultural practices, limited access to digital tools, weak innovation ecosystems, and fragmented collaboration. By integrating co-innovation and digitalization, the project aims to transform VET curricula and skill development, equipping educators and learners with relevant competencies. The initiative emphasizes multi-stakeholder partnerships, engaging SMEs, education institutions, to create industry-driven solutions that meet evolving EU standards. The project introduces tailored training programs and micro-credentials, focusing on real-world applications of regenerative and sustainable bio-production. Co-designed learning modules and capacity-building workshops provide VET trainers and learners with practical, industry-relevant knowledge. Key activities include curriculum development, hands-on training, and fostering collaboration through multi-stakeholder platforms. Pilot trainings for students and practitioners will ensure continuous feedback and refinement. A special focus on capacity-building in digital skills will enable VET providers to enhance business resilience and sustainability. The long-term goal is to strengthen the role of VET in aligning with local, regional, and EU strategies for sustainable growth, improving competitiveness in agriculture and beyond. By embedding co-innovation and digitalization into the core of VET, the project creates opportunities for a more innovative, digitally enabled, and sustainable bio-production sector.
