The AI-Driven Educators Academy (AIDEA) redefines how artificial intelligence (AI) is integrated into European teacher education. Unlike fragmented or generic AI training programs, AIDEA unifies, scales, and operationalizes cutting-edge research from leading Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects, ensuring immediate classroom applicability. AI is not just a tool but a catalyst for pedagogical transformation, supporting educators in rethinking teaching, assessment, and student engagement. AIDEA introduces a modular, research-backed training framework, moving beyond traditional teacher training by structuring AI education across three essential dimensions: Teaching About AI, ensuring educators develop deep AI literacy and ethical awareness; Teaching With AI, equipping teachers with AI-powered skills for formative assessment, adaptive learning, and classroom innovation; and Teaching For AI, preparing students for an AI-driven future through critical thinking and digital competencies. Unlike conventional models, AIDEA embeds AI-driven formative assessments, virtual mobility solutions, and teacher networking platforms, making professional development adaptive, scalable, and immersive. Concurrently, AIDEA acts as a convergence point for Europe’s most advanced AI education projects, integrating tested solutions from AI4EDU, FAITH, Discovery Space, GenAI4ED, and others into a coherent, future-proof professional development ecosystem. Rather than duplicating efforts, it bridges gaps left by existing initiatives such as ACT-AI and SmartStart, extending their impact through cross-border collaboration, AI-enhanced teacher mobility, and ethical AI frameworks. A powerful European consortium of universities, teacher education institutions, research centres, and policymakers ensures sustainability, policy alignment, and large-scale adoption.
