Project summary

OINOVATE fuses the ancient Greek word οἶνος (oinos, “wine”) with the modern verb “innovate,” encapsulating in a single, playful term the project’s ambition to marry centuries‑old vineyard heritage with cutting‑edge vocational excellence. In Greece, oinos was symbolised prosperity & agricultural practice, so revered Homeric epics and Dionysian rituals placed the vineyard at the heart of social life. OINOVATE partnership comprises 17 partners across Greece, Portugal, Italy, France, reflecting a balanced mix of HEIs, VET providers, NGOs, SMEs & stakeholders’ associations. During the foundation phase (M1‑M12) we establish governance baselines, create the digital backbone, and align partners on common quality and finance protocols.  The development phase (M13‑M30) converts evidence into action: Regional CoVEs mobilise Living‑Labs, trainers are certified, and the first digital modules go live.  A subsequent consolidation phase (M31‑M46) scales what works, pilot’s certification and business models & feeds policy briefs back to regional RIS3 desks. OINOVATE modernises European wine‑sector VET by (1) mapping skill gaps, (2) co‑creating 4 EQF‑aligned green‑and‑digital curricula inside regional CoVEs, (3) launching a multilingual Digital Academy with interactive simulations and a “VitiMatch” career‑finder, and (4) “Viticulture Technician” certification, training 180 learners & 40 trainers, generating 4 regional action plans, 12 documented good practices & connect 300 real job posts to graduates to anchor sustainable, tech‑savvy viticulture across 3 EU regions. OINOVATE targets VET learners (including rural youth, women and NEETs), vineyard SMEs, regional policy actors and VET educators. Across physical mobilities and the Digital Academy, will be reached 3.131 individual participants, of whom at least 40 % will be people with fewer opportunities and certify a minimum of 302 learners & trainers through the “Viticulture Technician” Certification delivered on the platform.
