The project is implemented in an international inter-sectoral collaboration involving institutions of higher education, secondary schools and non-governmental organization. Its main objective is to develop, in the transnational consortium, a methodology for the integration of computer science with teaching mathematics and physics in secondary schools on the basis of a pilot project activities in 10 selected schools from different Polish cities to 08.2017. The objective is achieved through the introduction of the teaching process and innovative methods of teaching mathematics, physics and computer science using the Python programming environment / SAGE . In the project the transnational exchange of good practices related to education takes place . The methods of peer learning and learning by doing is used during the implementation of the undertaking. A key role will is played by co-ordination of activities in computer science program in physics and mathematics to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of computational perspectives ( eg. methods of visualization as planning f (x ), numerical methods , computer algebra , data processing and data acquisition from microelectronics (Arduino equipped with sensors and digital cameras). Students in this course acquire programming skills and experience in the use of advanced scientific software , which can then be used to analyze problems. Unlike to many other solutions linked to the computerization of education, the project will be used to experiment with interactive language (Python and Sage platform). The project uses the good practice of iCSE project (iCSE.us.edu.pl. innovative project implemented by three years at the University of Silesia in co-operation with Oslo University). The main result of the project is developed methodology based on the experiences of 20 different lessons tested in 10 schools , located in different cities in Poland. Responsibilities in the framework of the project: - Academic partners: is responsible for the high quality of its operations , supervision of issues selection, monitoring and evaluation of their implementation - School partners is engaged for the production of training materials and preliminary research and testing on one stage. Along with the project leader , partner schools selects eight other schools in which tests is made moreover and train their teachers . School partners is also responsible for preparing the school for testing , under the supervision and with the support of academic partners they prepare training lessons for schools. - The Foundation is responsible among others for operational activities related to the management , promotion and dissemination of results All materials is tested in schools, and on the basis of the experience is created a final report - methodology , which is widely distributed. All the materials is published initially in the CC BY SA or GNU GPL
The project was implemented in international cross-sectoral cooperation involving 3 higher education institutions, 2 post-gymnasium schools and one non-governmental organization related to the education sector. The project was realized in the period 01.09.2014 to 31.08.2017. The main objective of the project was to develop a methodology integrating computer science with mathematics and physics in post-gymnasium schools on the basis of the pilot program. The goal was realized by introducing innovative teaching methods in mathematics, physics and computer science using Python / SAGE programming. The implementation of the project was partly based on the exchange of good transnational practices related to education and the use of peer learning and learning by doing methods. A key role in the project was the coordination of computer science with the physics and mathematics curriculum for enhancing students' knowledge and skills in the field of computational perspectives (Methods of visualization such as f (x) planning, numerical methods, computer algebra, data processing. Unlike many other educational computerization solutions, the project uses interactive learning (Python and SageMath). Results of intellectual work: O1- Teaching materials for over 20 lessons in mathematics and physics The materials cover integrated thematic issues. In addition, the materials contained a set of matriculation tasks that can be solved with Sage. O2 - Report: Methodology for integrating computer methods with science teaching, including: the results of the work and observation of the classes conducted in partner schools, methodological guidelines, teacher materials The results are available, among other on the VALOR dissemination platform,on http://visual.icse.us.edu.pl/metodologia and http://visual.icse.us.edu.pl/methodology. Worksheets (including the published work of teachers and students), which may also be valuable material for other teachers are available on the server: https://sage01.icse.us.edu.pl/pub/. The results were worked out in Polish and English. The results were worked out are the response to the need for target groups diagnosed at the project preparation stage. At the planning stage of the project it was agreed that all materials would be published under the CC-BY-SA license, allowing them to be further developed. Creative Commons licenses allow authors to preserve their own rights and share their creativity with others. This approach is in line with the Erasmus + program's open, accessible access to materials, documents and media for learning, teaching, training and youth work that are part of projects funded by the program. Both the Leader and the project partners are obliged to publish the results of the project in digital form, available free of charge via the Internet. All teaching materials have been tested in partner schools. Consultations were also conducted with other teachers of subjects: mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, as well as methodological consultants. On the basis of experience, a final report - methodology was created. The results of intellectual work are widely disseminated on the scale of the region and the country as well as abroad. During the project, two conferences were held - inaugural in January 2015 at the Silesian University in Chorzów and final in June 2017 at the partner school in Warsaw. Long-term benefits are primarily related to the persistent nature of the results of intellectual work, as well as the intensification of cooperation between partner institutions.
