Two environments in one Europe – Włoszczowa and Bitterfeld.- it is an educational strategic partnership project. Two schools – I-st High School name Władysław Sikorski from Włoszczowa (Poland) and Europagymnasium “Walther Rathenau” from Bitterfeld ( Germany) are applying for funding this project. Both schools -after familiarizing with directions of education adopted to the needs of fast changing labour market,- exchanged the data and information and it turned out that strategic for both schools are science competences. That is why the project and its activities take the problem. Together developed materials’ aim is to show the diversity of the conservation in two different regions in Europe. The area of Bitterfeld – the part of Germany where chemical industry and coal output used to be highly developed. The feature of this region is high level of chemical contamination. The second region which is going to be examined is the area of Włoszczowa surrounded by green areas that is a part of a protected area with its important climate generating function for the central part of swiętokrzyskie region. The main aims of this project are: - accustoming young people to organizing and carrying out research with the usage of scientific methods and tools - promoting the proper environmental attitudes among students with reference to the place of living - development of school teaching methods and including interdisciplinary methods Two groups of 15 students are going to participate in this project and six teachers .The project is going to last for 2 years, and its realization is going to be carried out in four stages. During each of this stage short students’ exchange is going to take place. The aim of these exchanges is to allow students to carry out the experiments together with their foreign partners on the spot. The experiments and researches are going to examine air, soil and water in the area of Włoszczowa and Bitterfeld. Trips and expeditions to scientific museums, nature museums, landscape parks, companies with innovative productive line will be arranged. Thanks to participating in this project students will strengthen their abilities of working in groups and they will be able to act more creatively. This project will teach students how to live without prejudice and how to overcome prejudice. Students can also learn how to be open towards other nations and cultures.
"Two Environments of One Europe - Włoszczowa and Bitterfeld" was a project of strategic partnership between the I-st High School name Władysław Sikorski from Włoszczowa (Poland) and Europagymnasium “Walther Rathenau” from Bitterfeld ( Germany). The project concerned the students develop competence in the field of science and natural sciences. The materials presented jointly show the diversity of forms of nature conservation and the state of the natural environment in two distinct regions of Europe. Bitterfeld region, which is the area after the chemical industry and after the exploitation of lignite, and the Włoszczowa region surrounded by green areas under the protected landscape with an important climate function for the central part of the Świętokrzyskie province. The main objectives of this project were: - implementation of young people to plan and conduct field studies using experimental methods and tools of scientific knowledge, - promote proper environmental attitudes among youth in relation to the region, - development of teaching resources for teaching interdisciplinary approaches. The project involved two groups of thirty young people and six carers from each of the countries. The project lasted two years and during that time two meetings took place. At each of the meetings, there were research activities, knowledge of the state of the environment and the regions of Bitterfeld and Włoszczowa. By participating in the project, pupils strengthened their competences, language skills, research, analytical skills, and also eliminated prejudices and broke stereotypes.
