We decided to carry out this project because recently schools in the Czech and Slovak republic only monitor the level of success in entrance examinations for university studies but there is no effective evaluation tools to get students’ feedback on whether they really contiue in their studies of chosen fields or whether they quit studies and also on wheteher they succeeded at the job market in their region or whether they deciced to start their job somewhere else. The aim of this project is to create a methodology, which will allow to generate an evaluation tool to measure the success of students of both the schools participating in the project and others. The tool will be available also for other institutions in relating fields (regional educational authorities, other schools). Project outputs will be available not only in the regions of both schools but also in national and transational extents. This will be made possible by translating the final brochure into English and German languages. The outputs of the project will be a result of a systematic and joint cooperation of both project teams. These teams will meet during the project duration and will learn together and mutually how to use methods needed for a successful completion of project outputs. Participants will learn about the differences and similarities of both countries and their education systems and also about the differences of their economic situations - one of the countries uses the common european currency EUR and the other does not.During the project actitivities the participants will acquire or consolidate a wide area of their competences and skills - problem solving competeces, communicative competences, social and personal competences, civic competences, learning to learn and work/entrepreneurship competence.During the project duration the participants will present the obtained information and results to both participating schools, to regional education authorities in both countries and to organisations working in the job market area. One of the final products will be a brochure describing the process of the project, the suggested methodology and the created evaluation tool. The brochure will be availabe in both printed and electronic form in languages of both countries and also in German and English languages.A core part of the project will also be a website which will publish information on the course of the project. It will also publish the presentations created throughout the project realization. The final brochure in electronic form will be also available here and it will be free to dowload. The website will be a multilanguage one and thus the project outcomes will be made available to all interested persons from the European Union.
We decided to carry out this project because recently schools in the Czech and Slovak republic only monitor the level of success in entrance examinations for university studies but there is no effective evaluation tools to get students’ feedback on whether they really continue in their studies of chosen fields or whether they quit studies and also on whether they succeeded at the job market in their region or whether they decided to start their job somewhere else. The aim of this project was to create a methodology, which will allow to generate an evaluation tool to measure the success of students of both the schools participating in the project and others. This was published in a brochure, which was printed in languages of both participating institutions and also in German and English languages. Two institutions took part in this project - Grammar School of Strakonice and Janka Jesenského grammar school of Bánovce nad Bebravou. Both schools are located in towns of similar size. There are about 1/3 more students at the Grammar School of Strakonice than at Janka Jesenského grammar school. Both schools also have the same success rate of students in entrance examinations to universities. During the project the participants took part in 4 exchange stays during which they took part in workshops and seminars aimed at acquiring skills which they used while working on project activities. They were seminars focusing on creating questionnaires and working with shared documents after which there was a period of acquiring data from graduates of both schools. Then there were seminars focusing on creating presentations and presentation skills.Students then created presentations based on the data which they had acquired during the previous period. These presentations were then shown at their schools. During the next exchange stay participants took part in seminars focusing on writing academic texts and started creating text for the final brochure. In the following period they continued in creating the texts and editing them, translating and the brochure was prepared to be printed and was printed. During the last exchange stay the brochure and outcomes of the project was presented to the town and regional authorities. The final brochure was distributed to both schools and also to town and regional authorities and in its digital form it was placed on the website of the project a so it is freely available for download. The website also contains links to individual questionnaires which were used to acquire data from the respondents - the graduates of both schools. Presentations which were shown to students a teachers of both schools motivated the audience to consider their choice of university better based on the feedback they were presented so that they do not have to change their field of study during their studies and also so that they can plan their future better when they finish the studies. According to the fact that the outcomes of the project will be available on the website of the project even in the future it will be possible to present them to more students of both schools. The brochures which were created during the project will be distributed during other events organised by both schools e.g. open door days.
