Cesar Bona (Global Teacher Prize Finalist - this award has been dubbed the ‘Nobel Prize’ of teaching) said “the biggest challenge for education today is to teach our students in a 21st century environment, so school’s doors must be open not only to let our students come in but also to let their ideas to go outside the school”, so we think that taking some ‘time out' from regular classes and doing something completely different can really help students as well teachers dynamics and you can also give quieter or less able students a chance to shine. Cultural diversity generated by this project, enriches and strengthens the relations between Lithuania and Spain. It is very important to exchange experiences and educational methodologies between these two European countries with so different contexts. The main objective of the project is to create a common innovative methodology based in the evidence of the work carried out in the project implemented by both schools. Apart from this, another main reason why we decided to carry out this project is to improve our students’ basic skills as well as promoting exchanges among students and staff from two very different schools in two countries such as Spain and Lithuania with great cultural differences. Spanish school is located in a low middle class area in the suburbs of Madrid whereas students from Vinius belong to one of the top 5 schools in Lithuania. We would like our TALISMAV project to be a kind of TALISMAN that could bring great prossitive aspects to both partners and many other organisations. European Agencies suggest making students active and conscious European citizens who are competent in the course of their own education, self-confident, able to use ICT to ensure effective communication, and determined to reach their main goals in life. We would also like to count on open-minded teachers ready to develop their professions and foreign language skills. Therefore, this project enhances the possibility to know the context of bilateral partnership and to understand new teachings methods when experiencing learning abroad since every single participant will be able to develop diverse strategies to be implemented, afterwards, with our Lithuanian and Spanish students.Another importarnt reason for this proposal is the great contrat between both teaching organisations, on the one hand, I.E.S. José Luis López Aranguren in Madrid has a great experience at receiving some refugee students and especially migrant students coming mainly from South America, Magreb and Sub-Sahara countries but it has a lack of ITC means but it has done all the best to improve its teaching methods in the recent years and to make sure its staff is involved in a updated training programme for 21st century teaching profession; on the other hand, Vilniaus Mykolo Birziskos gimnazija in Vilnius is one of the best schools not only in the city but also in Lithuania, in fact, it is on the top 5 in Lithuania, they have great experience with innovative ITC means but they lack experience in dealing with early school drop out students or even migrant or refugee students and also they have no experience with the previous Life Long Learning Programme and the current Erasmus + Programme from the European Commission. So we think that there is much to learn from each other when carrying out this project. We expect our schools to have more modern and motivating teaching methods to prevent early drop-out, supporting an ICT-based, holistic approach of teaching and learning, reinforcing the English language and basic skills.Students have to work together on innovative cross-curricular projects with pairs or teams of students in imaginative and diverse ways. During these projects students can use materials or technology to produce new knowledge, innovative solutions to problems or an innovative product with real-world applications. In some best practice cases they then have to present this to an audience (or peers, parents, local community and teachers)Our target group will not be only the secondary students but also school teachers who will be able to strengthen their profile by:-Making a deep analysis of our educational systems, our teaching/learning methods, its strengths and weaknesses; - Sharing learning and teaching methodologies and pedagogical approaches on language skills, digital skills, and communicative skills. From this dialogue will emerge good practices. The main objective of the project is to create a common innovative methodology based on the evidence of the work carried out in project implemented by both schools.Methodology is the fundamental aspect of our project, since it is based on the application of a methodology for teaching innovative skills and focused on the research of the student, "innovative teaching" (Project based learning, task-based approach, learner-centred approach) methodology and cooperative work.
César Bona (finalist of the Nobel Prize in Education) and his following statement served as inspiration for this project: "The biggest challenge for education today is the teaching of our students in a 21st century environment, so the doors "." The school must be open not only to let our students in, but also to leave their ideas behind. In this way, our IES José Luis López Aranguren of Fuienlabrada is the leading partner of the project of exchange of good practices of two years in which it deals with the innovative competences and it is an exchange of good practices of two centers of a new nature, on the one hand, a center in a disadvantaged area such as the Aranguren and, on the other, a high-level center such as the center Mykolo Birziskos gimnazija of Vilnius in Lithuania. Therefore, it is a project in which both centers will learn from each other as our center will be a reference in the reception of students of different nationalities and will have much to contribute to the Lithuanian center while this center can help us in the development of the competences Innovative teachers working with different methodologies. In addition, our students and teachers have been active participants in the development of their creative abilities through the activities that are developed in the way they are treated in the centers in the way that it is a set of students and language teachers and Spanish to work on their basic skills in English and working in a holistic way all subjects with a reference group and activities have been carried out in the two centers that have been recognized in a descriptive blog of the project, as well as on our web page. project (Description the center and its Autonomous Community, visit to the different media of the same and the works on it and the history of the last countries, the visits to the NGOs that work with the parents, the video, the presentations of our students, the social environment and habits, the intercultural cookbook, a methodological guide on learning activities outside the classroom, et do.) WEB: http://talismaverasmusplus.com BLOG: http://talismav.blogspot.com/ In addition, the website of the project is linked to the website of our center: https://www.educa2.madrid.org/web/centro.ies.lopezaranguren.fuenlabrada (in the lower left section with the project logo or even in the section our blogs) Many people decided to carry out this project in order to improve the skills of our students, as well as promote the exchange between students and staff of very different educational centers in countries with great cultural differences such as Spain and Lithuania. We really liked our project. IES José Luis López Aranguren is located in a middle class area just outside Fuenlabrada (Madrid), while Vilnius students are one of the 5 best secondary schools in Lithuania. The main objective of the project has been the exchange of experiences. The methodology is the essential aspect of our project, and the writing of the cooperative work. Therefore, this project has increased the possibility of knowing the context of bilateral cooperation and the different teaching methods and has allowed all the participants (teachers and students) to be able to implement different methodologies with our Lithuanian colleagues. The objectives and results we have established for this association have been evaluated; Taking into account several indicators within the following areas of work: European citizenship, language learning, intercultural awareness, innovative teaching and learning media, use of ICT, etc. Among the tangible results of the project, we can mention: - A summary of the methodological material developed for the project. - A web page of the project with the final results of the learning of innovative skills works during the two years. - A web space (link to the website of the center) where all the presentations and the results of the project have been loaded. - The project blog with the description of the activities carried out. - The results of different visits to NGOs, cultural centers and museums. - A logo and a machine for the students. - Multiplier Event (or event of difussion) in CTIF Madrid capital (Center for teachers training).
