In the 21.century the information and the need of it has changed rapidly and the countries have turned to the concept of world citizenship from individualism. For this reason, they've believed they had to train the students to bring up them as world citizens who think critically, have good communication skills and success in the life.Thinking critically,in the academic sense, involves having good reading skills, being open-minded,using judgement and discipline to process what you are learning about without letting your personal bias or opinion detract from the arguments. It involves being rational and aware of your own feelings on the subject – being able to reorganise your thoughts, prior knowledge and understanding to accommodate new ideas. As it’s very clear that critical reading is the first step that feeds the critical thinking, they're the very foundations of true learning and personal development. We are 5 partners (Finland,Turkey,Poland,Portugal,Romania)having less-achievement in our students’ reading skills depending on their grades from some exams they have to take, want to coalesce on a common purpose to solve this problem. In this 2 years- project we aim to increase our students’ reading skills by teaching them what critical reading is,how it's related with critical thinking and how much critical thinking affects their school success and whole life.We aim to help their personal development by providing them related activities in which they'll participate actively. We know that our target group, aged between 14 and 19,uses technological devices such as smartphones and computers frequently so we aim to integrate the ICT tools into this period to help them to gain digital reading addiction. Moreover,we aim to spread this attitude to the lower grades so that we will also train them in terms of peer learning. All the partners have local activities in enriching the students’ reading skills but couldn't get a big success and it’s so clear that through an international approach we'll also make a cultural awareness and an impact both in schools and the environment we live in.We aim to spread our results to the parents, other schools and the whole public expand the union European identity to our students and people on which we aim to put an impact. We plan 2 transnational project meetings in October 2016 in Romania and in June 2018in Finland (one more on the internet in October 2017)with 2 project team members from each country and 3 learning training teaching activities(LTTA).The first LTTA will be done in Turkey in March 2017 about what critical reading is,the coorelation between and the critical thinking and how it affects their personal development. We aim to teach them by SQ5R technique which will enable them to enrich their critical reading and thinking. The second LTTA's planned to be done in September 2017 in Portugal about digital reading, how we can achieve this and what the tools can be used to create an E-Library to keep our project fresh and sustaianble after the funding period. The last LTTA will be done in February 2018 in Poland about peer learning to let the participants disseminate our objectives to the lower grades. To implement these activities we plan to do some local, regionaland international tasks.Forming project teams and project team meetings-informative meetings with students, school staff, parents and the other schools' staff-evaluation and preparation tasks-creating project corners,e-blog,e library-logo competition and dissemination activities. The expected results we want to get are project blog,E-libraries of each school, trained students on the project's purpose, cultural awareness and tolerant to each other, enriched reading, communication, foreign language and ICT skills, much involved parents, internalized schools with improved curriculars and European development plans. The expected impacts will be the changed attitude among reading, local and regional cultural awareness and tolerant to the cultural differences, inspiration for the other projects and project makers, developed persons fully satisfied both at school nd in real social life-developed schools and curriculars, sharing new tecniques and ideas, feeling to reach at the objectives working cooperatively and intentions to work in other projects as partner together, spreading the logic of European citizanship. We will disseminate our project by project corners and posters, leaflets and Cds about the project, sharing the activities with press and tv-radio channels, the participants trained during the activities who get Europass to show their competence,E-blog of the project and E libraries of each school. We hope to make our project alive and sustainable by E-libraries,using the trained participants as dissemination agents to impact the lower grades by peer learning method, sharing our project on e-twinning at Eu level and sending our project to our national agencies to be shown on the commission's database to be inspiring for other project makers.
