The participating countries have succesfully colaborated in previous projects dealing with renewable sources of energy andrecycling different materials. Based upon the results of the previous projects and a very successful collaboration, the participatingteams have decided to give these previous projects a follow-up.The topic the participating institutions will deal with is the creation of the futuristic European house, including architecture, sustainable materials, energy, home automation and access for handicaped people. It will be a highly-efficient house producingand/or using renewable and alternative sources of energy built for the average European family.Five European countries will take part in the project this time involving approximately two hundred students from vocational, technical and general education depending on the profile of the participating schools. Deaf students will also be an integral part ofthe project.Students will focus on the architectural design including the number of rooms, design of the rooms and equipment, and eachpartner will create a file including design, plans, statistics for the final product being a model house. These data will be published onthe eTwinning platform, project website and EST.The participating teachers and interpreters will only act as coordinators supporting and assisting their students during the project. The students will work in teams, each focusing on a different task. They will regularly share their results with the other teams in orderto be able to build the model of the house. To achieve the project’s aim the participating partners will reinforce and/or open uppartnerships with companies to include them in the project by cooperating and giving support as well as assistance and finallyexpertising on different proposals. The project will be based upon three main pillars:- One of them being the English language, in order to prepare students for the project each partner will organize special languagelessons in advance.- The second pillar will include researching on architectural design and the average family in the participating countries.- The third will consist in sharing results regularly via different means of IT and during mobilities. The final result will be a self-sufficient model house meeting the future demands of a European family. It will be presented andtested for functionality in a special casing. Each step of the progressing project will be documented and the results will be shared ondifferent digital platforms (like EST, project website, TwinSpace) as well as in public places in paper form (brochures, leaflets, flyers,etc.). Free access to all mentioned platforms will be guaranteed to any interested person even after finishing the project as they willbe kept alive for at least five years.
