Context/background of project:We are 4 partners from Turkey,Portugal, Poland, Spain, all of us involved in Adults Education and the use of IT. We work in different types of institutions: Teacher's Training Centre, Adults Education Schools, vocational training centres, So our target groups (trainees, from now on) are also miscellaneous: young adults learners, teachers, and socially depressed adults. That wide range of adults have something in common: they are getting ready to access the market of labour and to cope with the society of technology and communication. Objectives of our project:We intend to develop young adults' basic skills and creativity, and to foster their employability. To achieve these objectives, we research the following topic: “(SAFE) Smart Apps For Adults Education”. We’ll learn about available educational apps and tools; we’ll create, publish and disseminate new educational apps; we’ll reflect the chances and risks through the use of apps (& social media) at school and create, publish and disseminate a “code of behavior” (e-Guide) and a tutorial with the steps to create an app to promote our institutions; we’ll implement a Twin Space to create a “game” app; we’ll learn about safety issues related to searching, installing and using apps. Our website will display our research, acquired knowledge, activities performed and resources created by the partners, among other available items and sections. Making this research a source of innovation that will improve the curriculum in our institutions, and will provide the environment so our trainees will develop their skills: that's a passport to employability.Number and profile of participants: (number of participants?)- Four partners (see nationalities above). -COMPETENCES: Experience in organizing European and local training courses, some of these related to using ICT resources and equipment in classrooms; Participation in Comenius, Leonardo, Grundtvig and eTwinning projects, and mobilities for the lifelong learning programme; Involvement in regional networks of adults education to improve curricula; research in the field of lifelong learning, sociology and psychology (IT skills surveys, chances&risks of the use of apps, etc)Description of activities:- Project introduction in the media: articles about the project; ERASMUS+ Conference; present this project in local, national and European sites; etc. - Creation of the project WEBSITE and social networks accounts: to provide continuous communication and interaction, and also dissemination and visibility. - Editing A BROCHURE written in the partners’ native languages and English, to be distributed: local institutions, local education authorities, conferences, etc. - Workshops about creating educational apps in some partners’ institutions. - Creating EDUCATIONAL APPS. - Creating a digital PRESENTATION of the project, in English. It will also be translated to all partners’ languages. - Rules for the LOGO contest.- Implementation of training courses for teachers and trainees that will be held in next training activities, in the partners’ countries.- Release of the e-GUIDE: “(SAFE) Smart Apps For Adults Education” in all partners' languages.Methodology to be used in carrying out the project:Action Research will be carried out in the following way: FOCUS: Adult trainees can use smart devices for educational purpose in a safe way; RESEARCH QUESTIONS: Do trainees and staff actually use smart devices for educational purpose? Do trainees develop basic skills and creativity by creating educational apps and using smart devices for educational purpose? Are they aware of safety procedures while using smart devices? What changes in their attitudes with respect to the use of smart devices can be observed throughout the project lifespan?; DATA COLLECTION: Internal reports; in-depth interviews; previous tests and post-test to check changes in the knowledge and skills of trainees and teachers; audit questionnaire, and other evaluating tools; ANALYSIS OF DATA and ACTION PLANNING: we’ll redirect to achieve our initial aims.Short description of the results and impact envisaged: - MOBILE APPLICATIONS will be created during the project to achieve the project objectives. They will be free downloadable from Google Play. -E-GUIDE includes the mobile applications developed; directives and information to show how to use these applications easily; videos and links will ensure the ease of usage.Potential longer term benefits:All the materials created, good practice and the apps will be accessible and disseminated from now on thanks to the website and the e-guide. The partners’ institutions (and nearby) and curricula will be improved by using this methodology. And trainees will have acquired experience and skills which will grant them access to better jobs.
SAFE project was carried out by four organizations in Turkey, Portugal, Spain and Poland Cooperation. Project was completed successfully by the cooperation of organizations which are providing adult training and ICT solutions. Nowadays, the importance of technology adaption in education is increased due to rapildy developing technology. With this rapid development, computers have shrunk into our pockets and smart phones have become an indispensable part of our lives. The aim of the SAFE Project is to develop digital skills of adult students and teachers and making trainings more qualified. Within this scope, project partners conducted a extensive research regarding mobile applications by checking all the existing applications and results was shared with the target audience. This posts are shared on www.smartapps4you.eu website and social media accounts. For the trainees who had no previos experience of using computers, a variety of online courses were taught in order to provide a different learning concepts. First, “Mobile application development” course for the trainers which was held in Poland. After that, those trainers started to teach this course in their own countries for other trainers and adult trainees. The questionnaires were developed and applied to the trainees in order to determine the readiness levels of the trainees before the trainings. Within the scope of this courses, 160 adult trainees and 183 trainers are trained. Within the scope of “intellectuel output”, 25 mobile applications are developed which are used for adult trainers and uploaded to Google Play Store and project website. For better project outputs, cooperations made with universities and meetings, workshops were held as well as brochure and poster preparation. During the project, 30 dissemination events were held. At the end of the project process, partner organizations also announced project to their local organizations. Project was completed with a final event where the project activities were introduced, the use of technology in adult training was discussed, new ideas were put forward and good practices were also shared. SAFE Project can be considered as an original project as a result of working in a current and needed area and it is also thought that it will lead to new projects in this field.
