Project summary

The Project of "Eurohuman" is planned because of main education problems in the world. Today, as a result of the competitive education system based on academic success,we face the danger of losing main humanistic route. It is seen that, positive sciences provide a faster and competitive life by creating development of technology but these sciences aren’t enough to increase people's capacity of living together in peace. What's more, the social sciences (like history, literature, logic, philosophy, religious science, sports and art) haven't been effective enough to create an ideal society loyal to the humanitarian values, either. In order to be an active European citizen and be able to live in peace, our young generation should first understand and preserve basic humanitarian values like respecting cultural diversity, non discrimination, tolerance, empathy, unprejudicedness which will end the main problems we face in the world .To make a sustainable investment in our societies in European dimension,in accordance with the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, a better programmed education and training system based on value transmitting through teaching process of school subjects is needed. This transmission shouldn’t be like lecturing,it should be provided by interactive teaching strategies especially through social sciences.Teachers and students of secondary schools aged 15-17 will be actively involved in project activities. 3Tpm and 4Ltt will be organized in 6 countries (Turkey, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria,Portugal,Italy). In each Tpm 3 teachers ,in each Ltt 4 students, one teacher will join the meetings from each country. The aim of the project for teachers; to develop their teaching skills in a different perspective and provide deeper view on teaching profession by discovering interactive education strategies in European dimension. With the web site and seminars , it is aimed at sharing and disseminating these results and good examples with other colleagues at home and with our partner countries to inspire them tooThe aim of the project for students; to promote humanitarian values through formal and non-formal education , the development of interpersonal skills to live peacefully together with respect for diversity, non-violence and social inclusion of all migrants, refugees, disadvantaged people in the societies, to enhance cultural awareness between schools and local communities, to increase both self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and self dignity of the young generation to themselves and respect to the others.During the Project meetings, the teachers ,some of them are also teacher trainers, will share and observe the good examples of humanitarian teaching strategies and also continually develop more alternative strategies together. Then, each school will apply them to their students. The results will continually be evaluated with the feedbacks from questionnaire and the activities will be shared on e twinning platform and project website .The Project web site will be active not only during 2 years but also after. For a sustainable process, the activities will be regularly shared. A humanitarian education strategy booklet ,Eurohuman history file will be written, a short drama video of "famous humanitarian people of 6 countries " will be recorded. A humanitarian art exhibition will be held and their products will be donated to the charities. The stake holders will be informed with seminars, every 3 months newsletters, brochures and the web site.Eurohuman project will create more active European citizen students who are more conscious and effective about the real problems of the world and their reasons.
