In recent years, we as all educators have witnessed unprecedented advances in information and communication technology (ICT). Naturally, these advances have also affected the world of education in a great extent. The use of ICT such as Internet applications, mobile APPS, video technology and various computer attachments and software programs have caused many changes in society. ICT skills are getting more crucial for not only in the basis of basic skills but also covering lifelong learning effects. We as educators should take advantage of social media, ICT and Web 2.0 tools to make the learning processes of pupils more meaningful. As known, the use of ICT in educational settings has certain benefits. It “can increase motivation, decrease anxiety, foster more student-centered activities, provide students with authentic materials and audiences”. Thus, it is significant to integrate the Web 2.0 idea in education in a planned and organized way because of the fact that pupils use electronic devices and social media platforms very actively in their daily lives. Children are mostly time and effort consumers with electronic devices. Therefore, it is clear that they need cognitive awareness and consciousness in using mobile devices, tablets, personal computers and so on for educational purposes. In this regard, the problem is the integration of ICT and interactive skills into school education and curriculum. With integrating Web 2.0 Tools into secondary education, it can be provided more incentive, enjoyable, faster, cooperative and individual learning. The quality and modernization of education is extensively required to provide students multi-skills apart from basic skills by the help of technological opportunities of global world. That's why we need to underline the following objectives integrated to the project:Improving ICT skills of students at schoolImproving teaching staff's ICT skillsArising awareness and consciousness in Web 2.0 Tools effectGetting rid of non-active text-based learning environmentUsing ICT more efficiently in classesUse technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital contentRecognise common uses of information technology for pupils The students will get transversal and cross-curricular competences in ICT and Web 2.0 Tools. The implementation activities in the project will change the old-fashined approaches in education and provide more innovative educational environment. “TheWeb2.0ToolsCircle” project addresses to 12-16 aged groups of students from 6 partner countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Poland and Turkey. Our project includes the effects of ICT-Based Method, Research, Peer-Education, Group Formation, Intercommunicative and Interdisciplinary Teaching Methods. All our activities and events have been planned according to the context of these methods. The project includes important intellectual outputs such as:1- Publishing an academic article analyzing of which and to what extent Web 2.0 Tools have being used in secondary education by an academician having PhD in ICT related area. 2- Web2.0ToolsBooklet combining 120 effective Web 2.0 Tools for teachers in secondary education in Europe. 3- Web2.0ToolsPictionary online database including introductory glossary of Web 2.0 Tools with their visuals/pictures for secondary level of students.5 multiplier/dissemination event has been planned in line with the outputs above: 1- Web 2.0 Tools training for secondary school teachers. Handing out the Web2.0ToolsBooklet after training.2- One conference for secondary level of students in Storage & Clouds Technology Web 2.0 Tools in education. Introduction of Web2.0ToolsPictionary will be made after the conference. 3- One short term learning activity focuses on gathering 5 students and 1 accompanying teacher from each partner instutition in secondary education at the age of 12-16 in Polish partner school (The grades of students will be decided in the 1st transnational meeting)4- Four transnational meeting will be held at the beginning and end of each project year in Turkey, Albania, Romania and Italy. The aim will be arrange all related details in the titles of legislation, administration and financial issues, organizing intellectual outputs and multiplier events, planning dissemination activities, implementation process and evaluation issues in project through direct communication. 5- Disseminating a Digital DVD Packet combining results. We will not put any limit to reach our project results. Our online portals and websites will be all open to everyone who wants to benefit from our project results. All project results will be kept in project website/blogs/Wiggio Classes after the end of project. In the last transnational meeting in Italy at the end of the project, partner schools will exchange ideas on new Erasmus+ partnerships and design a draft concerning in what ways project results can be conveyed one step further.
Our project starting date of was September 2016 and it finished in June, 2018. The main purpose of our project was to create more interactive and powerful learning environments in which learners become knowledge creators, producers, editors and evaluators by training both our students and school staff in terms of web 2.0 tools and using them actively in our courses and personal lives.. It can be described the evaluation of online learning application from a "content-consumption tool, where learning is delivered to "a content-authoring tool, where learning is created. With integrating Web 2.0 Tools into secondary education, it can be provided more incentive, enjoyable, faster, cooperative and individual learning. The quality and modernization of education is extensively required to provide students multi-skills apart from basic skills by the help of technological opportunities of global world. The following objectives which we have set out extensively have been succeeded: Improving ICT skills of students at school: Improving teaching staff's ICT skills Arising awareness and consciousness in Web 2.0 Tools effect Getting rid of non-active text-based learning environment Using ICT more efficiently in classes Use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content Recognise common uses of information technology for pupils Each partner school has ensured effective communication, collaboration and organisation at each stage from the start of our project. Distribution of tasks as highlighted initially have been met with ease and each school has actively sought innovative ways to ensure pupils are fully engaged across all our planned The Web 2.0 Tools technology-based activities. In this sense, we have implemented the project “TheWeb2.0ToolsCircle” addressed to 12-16 aged groups of students from 5 partner schools and 1 supporter organization below: 1- Zespol Szkol w Jankowie Przygodzkim – POLAND 2- Scoala Gimnaziala nr.1 Virfu-Cimpului – ROMANIA 3- IIS Francesco Orioli – ITALY 4- General Secondary School "Nikolay Katranov" – BULGARIA 5- Neslisah Imam Hatip Ortaokulu – TURKEY 6- Pashko Vasa – ALBANIA The schools have actively been into the main activities. The implementation activities in the project changed the old-fashined approaches in education and provide more innovative educational environment. Our project included the effects of ICT-Based Method, Research, Peer-Education, Group Formation, Intercommunicative and Interdisciplinary Teaching Methods.
