Project summary

The project "Good Practice Exchange on e-Participation Among European Youth Platforms" (POWERxYOU) is an exchange of best practices between organizations from Spain, Italy and the UK on electronic platforms for youth participation. The main objective of the project is to generate outputs on the use of electronic platforms for youth participation to increase/improve the civic competences of European youth. For this, the partners will held 10 virtual transnational meetings where they will discuss, share and exchange knowledge and experiences on electronic platforms for youth participation, especially for civic empowerment. In this regard, the results of the exchange of best practices will be recorded in the handbook of the same name as the project: "Good Practice Exchange on e-Participation Among European Youth Platforms". Which will be disseminated through the website and the multipliers events of the project with different social agents. Finally, it is expected that this project will not only help to generate outputs on electronic platforms for youth participation, but also that these outputs can be used by social partners, policy-makers, decision-makers and government agencies (at local, regional, national and European level), in order to enable them to develop their own electronic platforms for youth participation, especially for civic empowerment of new generations of Europeans.

Final report summary

The project "Good Practice Exchange on e-Participation Platforms among European Youth" (eParticipation) is an exchange of good practices within the Strategic Partnerships in the field of youth of the Erasmus+ programme. The project, which is conformed of entities from Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom, identified the essential characteristics that electronic platforms must have to civically empower the new generations of Europeans. To achieve this, BB&R (Spain), HRYO (Italy) and Momentum World (United Kingdom) evaluated 10 electronic platforms in the following aspects: form of registration, security, social networks, design, instructions for use, networking and use of the platform. In this sense, the partners analysed, shared and exchanged knowledge and experiences on these platforms in virtual transnational meetings. In addition to the above, the project also included the participation of 21 young Europeans (from Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom). They evaluated the DemocracyOs platform and, in that platform, developed 8 proposals to tackle youth unemployment in their localities. Both analyses were systematised in an infographic handbook. This document contains the evaluation of the 10 platforms, the evaluation of young people, the proposals of young people to tackle youth unemployment and, finally, the essential characteristics that electronic platforms must have to really empower civic and politically the new generations of Europeans. It is expected that the project (in general) and the handbook (in particular) not only contribute to generate inputs on the electronic platforms, but also that these inputs can be used by various social agents, policy-makers, decision-makers and government agencies (at the local, regional, national and European level), to use the analysed platforms, develop their own platforms and, mainly, empower the new generations of Europeans in their daily work.
