Art is indicative of humanity, and conveys humanistic values. The project ‘Artistic expression and humanist values’ originated from a desire to allow our students (as future citizens of the world) to connect with the very essence of life. As a result of our previous experience and thanks to this multilateral project, we focused on the best way to break down the language barriers of both child and adult partners of the project and also gave greater thought to humanistic values. The Arts have become essential to achieve this. Indeed, they are directly connected to our sensitivity, intuition, emotion, before which we are equal and all differences are buried. We hope to awaken the art in them that bring us together in what we consider as our universal assets. The partnership is formed by schools of each one of these countries. Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Spain and France. Humanistic values should be preserved and reinforced in society. They are a major issue in the on-going debate about the future of Europe. Our pupils will be provided with the ability opportunity to develop basic skills (for example gathering information, presenting a topic, comparing results and communication) and competences necessary for their personal development. In a voluntary approach through different activities such as painting, poetry, the arts etc., we want to make the students aware of the world around them and take responsibility for their actions. Indeed, by working together and sharing their artistic expression, pupils will be able to develop a greater sense of humanistic values, for humanity as a whole because each of us have a part to play.
