Project summary

The main aim of this project is to contribute to high quality work-based VET for young people and afterwards to increase their competitiveness at labour market. Project is going to establish a background for good practice exchange at the European level and to create conditions for teachers’ discussions and verification of methods for assessment of the learners progress during the work-placements. The specific objective of the project is to establish sustainable and mutually beneficial relations between vocational schools (VET) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in the participating countries and transnational, focused on work-based learning opportunities for students. The subject of cooperation comes out from ICT, digital competence and entrepreneurial qualifications. Students will apply their knowledge and skills gained at school in creation of video podcasts for presentation and promotion of SMEs with prior agreement to assist the project. There is significant role of teachers in the whole process, because they will ensure the pedagogical approach and benefit for the learners. During the creation of video podcasts and their application to marketing, students will need to communicate with employers, provide research and analyse the information needed, plan the working process and evaluate the results. Through these, they will develop their key competences and prepare themselves for employment. The project will facilitate the teachers getting access to a unique assessment method-INGOT, a method for the assessment of the students’ progress through comparison with ECVET compliant qualifications structured into learners’ outcomes. Using INGOT in the project will enable the tangible certification of students and award them with credits towards qualifications in ICT and entrepreneurship. At the same time ECVET will be promoted by using nationally accredited qualifications referenced to the EQF. The project is focused on supporting the cooperation between VET and the labour market with the aim to enable the students to get practical labour experience and businesses to benefit from the innovative thinking and entrepreneurial zeal of students and both to increase their effective use of ICT in marketing. The partners from Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria, Netherlands and Spain provide a good representation of the range of EU member states and different sectors including VET schools and enterprises. Transnational cooperation developed by partners with different background and experience is a central thrust of the project. There are several targeted impacts in this project: 1. The direct impact on the individual students and teachers in their own learning and personal development. 2. Impact on businesses benefiting from new marketing tool and apprenticeship model 3. Impact on VET education by bringing an example of the apprentice framework into the practice in all involved countries. The effective and required way of cooperation between the VET schools and enterprises will be practically implemented. 4. Raising the profile of EQF and ECVET in a wider area of the learning community and demonstrating the value of consistency and transparency in transnational recognition of learning outcomes. 5. The impact on partners in improving their skills and knowledge so that they transfer this in their ever-broadening European networks. The project is aimed at long-term sustainability: establishment of channels for cooperation among teachers, learners and SMEs.

Final report summary

The main aim of this project was to contribute to high quality work-based VET for young people and afterwards to increase their competitiveness at labour market. This main aim was fulfilled by specific way of work-based learning, development of business video presentations and it´s implementation in companies. Project was going to establish a background for good practice exchange at the European level and to create conditions for teachers’ discussions and verification of methods for assessment of the learners progress during the work-placements. 60 teachers were directly involved into the project (10 in CZ, 10 in IT, 9 in BG, 10 in NL, 11 in ES, 10 in PT) when working with students at the development stage and sharing experience in assessment. 21 of them participated personally at short term training event. The specific objective of the project was to establish sustainable and mutually beneficial relations between vocational schools (VET) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which was realized by direct involvement of 69 SMEs into the work-based learning. SMEs cooperated on development the video presentations and use of the output in marketing. There were all together 158 students involved into the project (25 CZ, 25 IT, 15 BG, 66 NL, 17 ES, 10 PT). Students together with their teachers applied knowledge and skills gained at school in creation of video podcasts for presentation and promotion of SMEs. Students worked in groups and development of a podcast was a process with the key role of a teacher. We continuously collected feedback from teachers, SMEs and students and reported about development of key competences of students. For some of them there was a first real contact with labour market, they learned how to communicate and how to present their skills. Students in teams learned how to work on the project from analyse stage to the final presentation. Most of teachers appreciated the progress the students have made. At the C1 training event teachers learned how to work in the INGOTS system, which was practically presented by the subcontractor TLM. All teachers tried the system themselves and some of them awarded the students by certificates already. The project was successful in supporting the cooperation between VET and the labour market with the aim to enable the students to get practical labour experience and businesses to benefit from the innovative thinking of students. There are practical results of those cooperation presented at www.inplace.cz.
