Project summary

This [email protected] -project is a primary schools’ project which is striving to a better future for our pupils. We aim to provide them with some skills that will ease and consolidate their life and education. We aim to give them opportunities to become aware of the relevance of healthy lifestyle, and the importance of finding their own strengths of character as well as the importance of cooperating among our own corporate body, and the other European countries. We aim to work together with the parents and official bodies of our institutions, and thus confirm the natural collaboration that should be part of the modern schools. During this project the pupils will have chances to use their skills of foreign languages, train their social skills, and use ICT-methods as communication tools. The children of today are the adults of tomorrow, and we aim to prepare them to be readier to attend the entire European education and labour market in their future life. Throughout the project we will involve as much pupils and staff from the participating institutions as possible. The entire number of people participating will be over 3000. From this number over 1000 will be pupils, and over 100 will be teacher. The concrete theme-day-based activities in the schools will be designed so elementary and easy, that even the youngest of our pupils will be able to participate, and thus be able to experience the European cooperation. We will invite the parents and other stakeholders to participate and be audience in our local and international events, and thus distribute our activities and achievements. We will produce a “Heart Healthy Recipes’ Cookbook/Calendar”, and print so many copies that each home and other relevant stakeholder will have one. This final product will also be found on-line, so that the results can be found, and utilized by anyone. We will disseminate the results and findings of our project in our eTwinning site and project’s blog, which will be open and accessible to familiarize the contents. We want to involve the pupils also to the mobilities. The participating pupils will have a primary experience of the new culture, and they would be the best messengers of their own culture to the pupils of the host school. The visitors will make the project even more visible and concrete in the institutions. The host families will have a major role, and they themselves will gain a beautiful experience with the foreign pupils. The theme of the project is about learning and recognizing healthy life-style, and increasing self-confidence by learning to identify the virtues or strengths of character in oneself. We will use easy questionnaires, and surveys in order to follow the change in the knowledge and behaviour of the participants in these issues. We know that the changes cannot be radical or prompt, but hope to see and find some changes, and good attitude. This project is established for the staff members in order to offer them a chance to meet their colleagues from other European countries, to open their mind and spirit wider and more tolerant. The schools’ adults will see and learn new pedagogical methods in new circumstances. The results of the project will be disseminated to the other schools in our area, and we hope to encourage them to seek international liaisons. We aim to establish lifelong contacts, and high quality professional partnership.
