Erasmus Project Summary Our project is based on the desire to help our students take an active part in their health and well-being. This understanding of good attitudes on life will allow us to shape good professionals, by applying these practices themselves they will have a better capacity to pass them on to others. All participants of the European side of the project will gain an unmatched advantage of professional development and discovery. The four partnering establishments are experiencing rather tense socio-economic situations, where there are insufficient means to carry out a project of this stature. The whole project must also help each partner reduce the dropout rate of its students by instilling a taste for studies for some and by taking other problems into consideration. As a matter of fact, all four partners plan for a new style of teaching, thanks to an active and collaborative approach between educators and educators, educators and learners, and even learners and learners. This collaboration is based on the usage of TICE (Information and Communication Technologies for Teaching) tools like Twinspace and virtual mobility and should enable an interactive and constructive involvement. The project aims to consequently enhance language practices and the education of health and well-being in these establishments. All of the pedagogical activities on attitudes for life and health have three major sequences in relation to nutrition or physical activity and people’s geographical, cultural, economic, and social environments. The life attitudes studied will be connected to illnesses (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular problems) that can be prevented, limited, or significantly delayed with aging. Life attitudes have ties with nutrition and physical activity (sport, everyday activity and occupational physical activity). They’ll also be linked to the geographical environment as well as economic and social environment (for example, in nutrition, the absence or presence of certain food according to it’s geographical location, discovering one’s living environment through sports and/or outdoor physical activities and their influence on one’s health. We will study nutrition, specifically in relation to culture and the effect of certain ingredients on one’s health (for example: the Mediterranean diet, the availability of certain herbs or vegetables…) We’ll be working on sports activity in order to create links between the effects of each practice (muscle mass, body fat, the benefit on the cardiovascular system). Occupational physical activity will be addressed through risk-preventing measures tied to physical activity. The economic and social environments come up in all topics of the project (nutrition, physical activity) but also have an impact in the activities carried out through organizations like retirement homes and/or health centers. This partnership thus relies on strong cooperation linked to the experiences of each partner and past projects, which form a breeding-ground with the creation of new activities never done before in the establishments. In order to achieve these objectives, the project plans to use the expertise of each of its partners as well as include training, which together will have a beneficial impact on both the adults and the students. A well-established distribution of tasks between the partners aims to optimize the project’s implementation by relying on each one’s skills. Mobility activities are largely based on the desire to train our partners on innovative methods and to allow an exchange of advanced and versatile practices with each of the establishments. The apprenticeships and teachings for the students intend to train them to be active members of society on the European scale and break down cultural barriers which keep them from thinking about education or work beyond their country’s borders. The activities will allow the outcome to be spread and increase the impact on a scale which will stretch beyond the establishments : on a regional, national, and European level. In the end, our desire is to keep these actions and medium to long term training going, as well as sustaining the tools for measuring the actual impact of this project for several years even after the project is finished. The stability of the teams in place, the upholding of collaborative platforms, and the arrangement of partnerships for business internships will therefore guarantee the continuance of the activities and outcomes of the partnership.
Our project went well despite the departure of one of the countries at the beginning of the project (Cyprus) The change of coordinator for the Italian school in the second year following a transfer rather strengthened the relations between the partners. All the mobilities of the project have been carried out (minimum 15 pupils and 9 guides for each country) France made 18 pupils mobilities and allowed the pupils of the class concerned by the project to participate in all the mobility activities carried out in France. The realized productions are: - A logo of the project - A charter of life attitudes, for each of the three countries, which we must flood to one of our MEPs. - A Madmagz with the typical recipes of the three countries and their health benefits. - Two films, one of presentation of the project for the Hippocrene contest. The other one on the professional training of students in the care and personal services section. -a twinspace including all productions and videos of mobilities over the two years (slideshows, digital games, recipe tutorial ..) These productions also allowed us to apply for the 2019 European National Education Prize and to be the winners of the prize in the professional high school category. We have already been able to realize internships from the first year of the project with our Italian partner. All the mobilities were diffused in the local press and near the inspection, the rectorat .. For the sustainability, the display of the various productions in our establishment the open doors, the Erasmus Days, the diffusion of the films. An internship partnership with a new structure in Viterbo (Italy) was also set up during the transnational, 4 students should benefit from it next year and two companions, thanks to the financing of the Hippocrene Prize. The twinspace will remain accessible. Other Ka2 projects are planned for the French institution, perhaps as soon as the next school year with 6 countries.
