Nowadays, the development of every complex project requires the collaboration between multiple organizations. We have a significant example in the aeronautical industry where, since the beginning of the market studies to product selection, schedule of the project, design, manufacturing and delivery to customer, it is required the incorporation of multidisciplinar and international teams. Like in the real world, in our project, the participants will have to beat the challenges to reach the targets during the development of the program, including human factors (laguages differences, intercultural behaviours and labour habits, different timetables and ways of communications, etc) and, on the other side, technological factors (different standards, tolerances, teams, software tools) during the different phases of the project. The scenario will be a reproduction small-scale works and ways of enterprises within the framework of European cooperation, both between EU countries as relations with other countries outside this framework. The main objective is to initiate the students (and teachers) in projects that have a clear objective of technological innovation and international cooperation between multinational and multidisciplinary work teams. The nucleus of the CUSTOMIZABLE ERASMUS DRONES project is the manufacture of four (one per participant) drones (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems RPAS) one of which will be the prototype, that will allow students involved in this project, which are all related to schools and aeronautical knowledge, deepen the understanding of this emerging branch of aeronautics. Students will design the majority of the pieces with the help of CATIA (Computer Aided three-dimensional Interactive Application) a specially used by aeronautical companies, software program and manufactured them using aeronautical techniques as possible and recent applications such as 3D printing. The project, in addition, will allow students to meet standards for an aircraft of this type and, also, those required to fly it, with safety rules. The work has been divided into blocks to assign it to the participating schools. The idea is to design a common core, which each school-specific variants, can join as it happens in reality with the aeronautical products where each user can vary some equipment within certain limits. The chosen software is free or open development. At the beginning of the second year of the project teams will be the final assembly and testing of the prototype flight together. After the evaluation of the results, starts the phase in which each school will manufacture your own RPAS. To do so, will be the transfer of knowledge (know-how) technology between all participants of the project (E-twinning).

The main objective is to initiate the students (and teachers) in projects that have a clear objective of technological innovation and international cooperation between multinational and multidisciplinary work teams. Precisely, the objectives and results of the project can be summed up in 3 points: - Technical objectives: learners have created 3 drones, one for each partner school, and a technical customization has been made by each group on their drones. These activities have been carried out in constant cooperation between the three partner schools, especially during the mobility periods when the teams collborated to reach their common goals. Technical difficulties were met and made the students deal with the challenges of a transnational project, with a high level demands. Indeed the drones must be able to fly in good conditions at the end of the project. - Distance communication tools and language skills: both students and teachers reached a better level in English, which is the common language for the project but also in the aeronautic field. Distance communication tools enabled regular exchanges in the frame of the project, in spite of technical and schedule issues, which made it sometimes difficult. - Enhancement of the quality of VET: the project contributed to reinforce the quality of the school subjects and the motivation and self-confidence of the students in vocational schools. This is especially important as VET is sometimes depreciated in the participated states. The direct participants to the project were : - Flora Tristan vocational school / AEROCAMPUS Aquitaine (France) : 36 students of 1st and 2nd high school years, learning aeronautics (systems and avionics), in English European section, plus their teachers and administrative staff. - Sultanbeyli vocational school (Istanbul, Turkey) : 36 students learning aeronautics, in English European section, plus their teachers and administrative staff. - Leonardo da Vinci vocational school (Viterbo, Italy) : 36 students of last year of high school, in digital and aeronautics sections, their teachers and administrative staff.
