The „Strategic partnership for ensuring personal life management for better work perspectives in disadvantaged regions” involves 4 partners working in the education and/or youth sector. The project relevance is based on a social problem that partners realized during their professional activity: the high unemployment rate among youngsters in poor and/or disadvantaged regions of the countries of project partners. In these regions and for high school students with economic/geographic/education difficulties it is a big problem to lead their own lives independently, have a job and some vision/perspective on the future. There derives the main objective of the project, to change the passive attitude, the lack of motivation and the poor capacities for personal life management and self-employment of high school students in the geographic working area of the project partners (Kathaz Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd: Békés and Csongrád counties; Slovenija: poor parts of Ljubljana region, Akademie Klausenhof: minorities and migrants in the area of Hamminklen-Dortmund). Concretely, we intend to give them skills and competences to be able to lead their own lives, have a solid working moral and be self-employed. For this, we do the following activities. On the spot analysis An on-the-spot analysis will be realized in the covered regions with local target groups to investigate local situation, needs and problems regarding the employment of low-skilled youth in these territories. International Trainers’ Team: a group of 10 trainers will be formed, delegated by partners. The group is responsible for the development of the 3 training curricula and contributes to the realization of the 4 trainings per year per partner. The formation of the groups contains personal meetings (2 times) and personal homeworks to do/read/study. Training curricula: targeted for high school students (17-18 yrs-old). Curricula description: 1. consciousness education (self-consciousness, motivation); 2. life and career orientation (time management, priorities, vocation etc), 3. working and entrepreneurial skills (risk management, process management, cooperation skills). The three partners involved (Socialna Akademija, Kathaz Ltd and Akadmeie Klausenhof) will realize 4 trainings per academic year (2 series: 2 academic years) per 40 students per partner. In total 8 trainings per partner will be realized. Mentorship activity The mentorship is the other pillar (besides the trainings) of the project which makes complex and completed the process of supporting the students. A curriculum will be developed to train the mentors. Mentors will meet their students 2 times per month per one academic year. Mentors also will meet each other for supervision monthly. The mentorship program and the training process for students lasts two academic years, meaning two pieces of processes can be realized. Bank of possibilities The bank of possibilities is a list of possibilities structured by project partners to provide up-to-date data to target groups and covered regions (scholarships, traineeships, voluntary work etc). Evaluation catalogue The evaluation catalogue contains the results and good practices of the project. The innovative element is the combination of the tailor-made character of the material (it contains local good practice and experience from partners) and the possibility of adaptation of the material to other circumstances (suggestions). Project presentation events At the end of the project each partner will realize a presentation event for dissemination and multiplier purposes for local and national relevant stakeholders (teachers, high schools, education experts). A combination of methods is used: nonformal methods, learning by doing, training methods, on-the-spot research/field research, personal meetings and motivation discussion, coaching. Participants Participants of the project are related to three main activities. First, in the training elements 250 participants will be involved in total. The International Trainers’ Team will have 10 members. The trainings have 240 participants per all the project. The mentorship program will have 60 mentors and the same 240 participants. Students (17-18 yrs old) come from the target areas and target groups and have a poor vision on their lives and future. Trainers: People with mentorship/trainer and youth work experience will be chosen, use of English at a working language level is also a requirement. Mentors: young adults and university students (aged 22-35) will be selected as mentors by personal motivation and professional experience. The main results of the project are: 1. Knowledge transfer will happen between project partners (International Trainers’ Team, training events, evaluation catalogue). 2. Change of consciousness of students is the most important result of the project. We aim to help them to have vision on their future, be able to lead their lives and find jobs for themselves or be self-employ
Strategic partnership for ensuring personal life management for better work perspectives in disadvantaged regions (MotivAction) involves 4 partners from the education and/or youth sector. The project relevance is based on partners’ experience that youngsters seem unmotivated and/or unable to lead their lives and to become conscious, meaningful, responsible taking and content adults. Partners also involved in a way disadvantaged groups: participants with fewer possibilities. They are students who lack some possibilities, that would be needed for life orientation and for the above described adult life. Partners identified 3 core fields to work on: self-consciousness and personal development; career orientation; financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills. We intend to tackle the problem by a complex way of supporting youngsters, namely the combination of a series of trainings and mentorship program in the three identified fields, completed by a Bank of Possibilities (a webpage containing knowledge, information and personal competence development possibilities). In the beginning of the project, we made an On the spot analysis, to investigate local situation, needs and problems of the target group in these topics. Furthermore, an International Trainers’ Team is formed. It is a group of 10 professionals, representing 3 profiles: trainer, manager, researcher. This is a specialty of the group, and this way various information can be included in the work thanks to the different profiles. The group helps the professional work in the project, especially IO development, and means a sustainability element, as it is responsible for designing new projects, to continue the work started in MotivAction project. Based on the results of the survey, training curricula are developed. First, partners set the common framework (terms, definitions and principles) and then they were free to define concrete training content, in order to fit local needs. Based on this, 2 rounds of trainings and mentorship program were organized, for 2 academic years. In total cc. 170 participants from South Region of Hungary, Eastern Slovenia and Hamminkeln took part. Events were used to support youngsters and to test the curricula, which was developed. Finally, the 3 intellectual outputs contain the curricula of the training, theoretic background, experience of implementation and suggestions for future realization. Targets of the IOs are double: people working with/supporting high school students: trainers, teachers, education stakeholders, as well as organizations/institutions working with youth. The 4. IO is about mentorship: theoretic background on mentor’s roles and functions, mentoring models are followed by mentorship trainings organized in the project and lessons learnt, suggestions formed for the future. This IO also has a double target: mentors and organizations hosting mentorship programs. The specialty of the 4 IOs is that targets can read about three alternative training curricula/mentorship program having the same goals and principles. The transferability of IO-s is guaranteed by the double focus, concrete tools and methods, experience, as well as suggestions and advice for future trainings/mentorship program given to target groups. Besides concrete activities and materials, the project has soft results as well. First, we could realize knowledge transfer and change of consciousness of students and target groups in the Regions on the importance of life motivation, life orientation, and ways leading to proactive, responsible, content adult life, when the individual is in organic relation to the local/regional social context. Second, target groups’ related competences and skills are developed in the project, and they are engaged to continue this development process and to involve others (students can have impact on their peers, while teachers, trainers, mentors can involve high school students). Results of the project are spread in various form. First of all, each partner organized multiplier events, which had double focus: learning occasion for the participants and disseminating project results. Target groups are member of the institutions’ professional networks, as well as teachers, trainers, mentors, youth workers, other education experts of the Regions. Furthermore, other dissemination activities were organized, via the professional network of the organizations and in online forms (website, social media, blogs). Last but not least, the project was a perfect occasion for partners to strengthen their partnership and to drive lessons from project management in difficult times, such as the pandemic situation. The importance of cooperation, communication, flexibility as well as adequate reaction to local and international changes are clearly shown by the project and considered as an important learning experience by partners. We seriously plan to use the results and lessons learnt in the project for further cooperation in European context.
