Project summary

The main aim of our project is to change good practices of our own schools. All our activities are planned to fulfill this aim. Our priorities are to gain the strenghtening of the professional profile of our teachers and to improve high level of skills, competencies and abilities. All the four of our good practices support the innovative methods of teaching folkdance and getting to know Hungarian traditions and folk art. The teachers will acquire the contents, methodology and conditions of good practices in frames of 5-day long joint staff training events. They also undertake to built the newly learnt good practices in their teaching practice twice a half-term. It will extend and develop the educators’ professional competences. During the 24 months of the project students will make a children picture dictionary of ethnography in their own institution based on the differences of Hungarian dialects in the names of traditional clothing or traditional crafts. They will explore the partners’ traditional dances and songs, too. We will strengthen cooperation between different generations when watching and studying old dancers and craftsmen in their authentic circumstances. We will organise short term – 7-day long - student exchanges twice in Kalocsa and Csíkszentkirály where the students can watch, experience and even try the Hungarians’ culture on different sides of the border. They will show what they learnt in performances organised in both countries. During the local project events and transnational project meetings we will know each other’s schools. Children involved in students’ exchanges will get the chance to look beyond their own institution and experience the importance of cooperation and accepting and respecting differences. We will show all the results of our project on a common website refreshened continuously. The institutions will be enriched through the exchange of good practices while learning from each other, building international cooperation and widening connections.
