In general, (social) entrepreneurial education in Europe in not well developed. There is a great need for materials that will serve as Manuals for this type of education. At this point, adult learners and teachers have a good/quality access to information that present current state of SE in EU countries - through various researches, mapping, interactive models etc. that present technical information and positive examples and there will be more material produced in future in that direction for sure. As SE architects and trainers we miss the information on lessons learned from case studies in SE framework that failed from various reasons. Since nobody is researching and building databases on SE seen and studied from a different point of view, why not change paradigm and promote SE in a way to also show bad models that were implemented and failed from various reasons? Why not use that educational model and teach others not to repeat the same mistakes? We want to modernize educational/teaching skills of our staff, to upgrade pedagogical approaches and to learn new valuable information on SE framework that failed from various reasons. RISE - Realities in Social Enterprise is a Strategic Partnership project dealing with design and production of educational Intellectual Outputs which would be very beneficent for adult trainers who are teaching in the field of the Entrepreneurial learning. The projects unites three experienced organisations PARTAS (Ireland), Regionalni Sklad Dela za Pomurje (Slovenia) and ACT Group (Croatia). The project will last for 24 months with lots of educational activities. Specific objective of this project is to promote (Social) Entrepreneurship education in EU through design, production and dissemination of educational Intellectual Outputs. We want to increase the capacities and international dimension of partner organisations through training 9 new trainers, so that we are able to offer activities and programs that better respond to the needs of local disadvantaged unemployed persons. We want to support the professional development of participating staff members with a view to innovating and improving the quality of teaching and training in the area of adult education. Improving individual educational and managerial competences and skills of our staff connected with areas of non-formal and informal education, social entrepreneurship and social inclusion of local depriviledged unemployed people. We want to provide target groups (unemployed adult learners) modern entrepreneurial learning updated with EU educational standards. The project will produce Intellectual outputs which will be free for use and easily approachable: 1. Educational Manual "RISE" and Interactive Map of unsuccessful Social Entreprises in EU. The Manual will provide various updated information on unsuccessful models of Social Entrepreneurship in EU countries and positive advices and solutions for business success. The Manual is targeted at adult teachers/trainers from EU countries who provide Entrepreneurial education to their learners. The Interactive Map will show unsuccessful SE business on Europe’s map and short SWAT analysis of each unsuccessful SE business, 2. New Curriculum - an innovative, modern and interactive 6-month educational training program divided in 6 moduls that deal with successful and unsuccessful SE models. It will be based on previous experience and good practices of project partners and on newly created Manual. It will also empower the learners to reach success in their SE adventure. The Curriculum will be targeted at unemployed adult learners who seek innovative entrepreneurial learning. The project will include training and learning activities: 1. Training of Trainers – 3 experienced trainers from partner organisations will provide education for 9 “junior” trainers from partner organisations. After this Training, 9 “junior” trainers will provide education and online support for 60 adult learners in the testing of the new Curriculum; 2. Pilot Program as testing the new Curriculum - these 2-month activities will be of local type and will be held by 9 new educated trainers for unemployed adult learners. There will be 20 learners in each country (Ireland, Slovenia, Croatia) who will be educated through interactive workshops, seminars and online support. At the end of the project, all the partner organisations will hold planned dissemination public events in their respective countries where the Intellectual outputs and results of the project will be shown. At these events local stakeholders (adult education organizations, interested stakeholders, local municipality) and media will be invited for purpose of further dissemination of the project. They will be invited through various channels, especially through detailed website and social media marketing strategy. The feedback from these events will be uploaded on project’s website, FB account of the project and websites of partners.
“RISE - Realities in Social Enterprise” which was funded through ERASMUS+ Programme, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices Action, sought to provide a contemporary knowledge base on the effective, sustainable operation of social enterprises and create a relevant, new curriculum and learning tools for social enterprises. It was particularly focused on social enterprises from EU that were unsuccessful, on the basis that the obstacles those companies faced may serve as learning lessons for social enterprises that are struggling with similar challenges. The overall objective of this project was to promote social entrepreneurship education in the EU through design, production and dissemination of education. This project follows Europe 2020 agenda on social inclusion, solidarity, fighting unemployment and modernising education. The project was based on partnership of organisations from different EU countries: “PARTAS - Get Tallaght Working Co-operative Limited” from Ireland, “CONNECT Association” from Slovenia, and ACT Group from Croatia. They have a track record of more than 500 supported social enterprises and 20.000 supported persons from disadvantaged groups, which were subsequently integrated through training and job-placement processes. The study was carried out by the team of four researchers coming from these organizations respectively. The specific objective of this project was to promote social entrepreneurship education in EU through design, production and dissemination of educational material. Through engagement with over 200 social enterprises during the research, piloting/ testing and dissemination phases of the project, meaningful engagements with the target groups in their respective regional/ national areas has been achieved. The key outputs were the production and dissemination of a research report, training manual and educational programme. A group of 60 individuals have received the pilot training, many of whom are capable of deploying the concepts and information within their own organisations and to a broader audience. In so doing, assistance has been provided to those struggling with being in the labour market, mainly unemployed adult learners, with modern entrepreneurial learning updated with EU educational standards.
