The project "CO.D.E4all" wants to create a network of school across Europe to develop the "21st Century Skills"; such as creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, digital competence, teamwork and collaboration in virtual teams, multiple languages and cultural awareness. Our aim is to develop and share good practices and innovative educational ways to use coding and new technologies at school, for students from 3 to 13 years old , in order to create a computational thinking vertical curriculum . Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Turkey, Sweden and Portugal will be partners in this project: they have different background and they will bring their experience and skills in using coding and computer progmamming in the daily activities. Therefore, the goal of the project is to learn from each other and experience together new activities and methodologies to develop critical and computational thinking. Our students will have shared offinline and online coding activities, they will use programming platform like Scratch Junior and Scratch to develop games and digital storytelling, they will have a first approach to robotic education. We will work online in a virtual classroom, using Etwinning and Google for education platforms to learn together and create groups. We will also use social networks to disseminate our results and to involve an increasing number of digital users, not only students and teachers, but also our stakeholders like families, local community and authorities. Our aspiration is to help children to turn from digital consumers to digital producers. Special attention will be paid to motivating girls to STEM disciplines and to the new opportunities coding and ICT offer to inclusion of students with special needs or social difficulties. Our aim is also to build a Teachers' “Code European community”, where we can: -Share good coding and computer science practises that we are using in our classroom at the moment. - Inform other teachers, public, families about our project. - Collaborate with different nations researchers, technology developers, state and local leaders to disseminate the idea that technology is advanced in ways that promote young children’s healthy development and learning. For this reason we will focus also on teachers training and they will have several occasion to train about our topics, in online and face-to-face meeting. The projects activities are very diversified, including 4 transnational learning, teaching, trainging mobilities for 2 teachers and 3 students for each participant, 3 project meetings aimed to planning, monitoring and implementing the tasks, videoconferences and training activities using the ICT tools, storytelling, pixelart, video, apps, games and ebook editing, open days in each country and special events for dissemination marking international/European recurrent occasions, such as Code week, Christmas, Women’s day etc. The outcome of the project will be enhanced expertise for teachers of all ages, increased motivation and competence in using coding and ICT tools for students, improved awareness of the multiple uses and benefits of coding for policy makers and local communities and a large range of material and digital products to be shared with all project stakeholders by means of social media and events on site, so that to offer tips for new ideas and applications.
OBJECTIVES: we shared good practices to create a digital curricola (with a focus on coding, programming languages, robotics) to help children developing digitals skills. We also helped teachers to learn together: they shared their knowledge and good practises to realize a Coding community, they took part in online training events to develop their competences Our target groups inside the partnership were the students, with a focus on girl students to stimulate them taking up STEM and also students with difficulties in learning. Another target group inside the partnership were teachers of different ages and backgrounds: even the more reluctant to technologies were involved in the project activities and training. Target groups at local level: local schools, families and cultural institutions public authorities private actors and the citizenship in general. Coding is a good tool to tighten the realtionship between the school and the community, the school and the families. Everyone felt an active player and part of a network. Target groups at regional/national level: public authorities and cultural institutions the Book in progress network in Italy and other national/regional networks in the participant’s countries (AeL, Microsoft community) unions and the legislator, for their role in setting up coding-including programs. Target groups at EU level: etwinning platform to share the project results EU forums, Euractives network Creativity and Innovation Critical thinking and problem solving Digital competence Agility, adaptability and capacity for lifelong learning Teamwork and collaboration in virtual teams Initiative, self direction and entrepreneurialism Multiple languages and cultural awareness NUMBER and type/profile of participants; Italy 1000 Description of ACTIVITIES; Eurocodeweeks, teachers training (national and international), workshop for students (Pixel art, binary code, Code.org, Cardboard, CodyWord, Scratch), coding workshops open to the city, meetings and conferences open to the city, videotutorial, Tinkeing for girls workshops, with vacational school ITIS - participation to OPS, Italian translations of unplugged lessons on Code.org, creation of international folder of lesson plan, participation to Eureka, Lego Hacking workshop for students, DIY robotics workshop for students, meeting with mentor of Inspiring girls, Web café, CSFirst activities, reading on women STEM PARTNERS ACTIVITIES SLOVAKIA LEARN2CODE CODE WEEK HOUR OF CODE SCRATCH DAY CODE.ORG Cody Roby Ozobot Pixel art Cardboard Cody Word Scratch robots production a publishing videos on YouTube Scratch productions interactive story about a robot´s journey cross countries (video, e-book and app) trainings video tutorial Tinkering Labs for Girls Web café STEM lecture for girls ROMANIA Collage of robots made of geometric figures 3D human robot Scratch (creating stories, teachers initiation) Robots made of reciclable materials Art Attack 3D Robot Mechanical robots (literature Halloween made of bottle covers 3D made of cubes) Special Crosswords Flashmob Ode to Code Romanian version for the Logo of the project Programming activity Pixel art TEACHING CODE AND COMPUTATIONAL THINKING Project Presentationin different schools Online webinar for teachers Llesson plan containing coding activities STEM Questionnaire for girls Tinkering Lab Charity Fair Different activities with coding TINKERCAD and STORYBOARD Women and STEM Participation at the Internationa and local Symposium SWEDEN Code hour Logo contest Registration on Twinspace Theacher training in programming Coding lessons with students Scratch day continued Coding activities Lessonplans Code hour coding in scratch pixelart Legomindstorm work Webcafé with teachers Pink Day activity PORTUGAL Pixel art CODE WEEK CODE.ORG HOUR OF CODE SCRATCH DAY Cody Roby Cody Word Workshops Training on the Future Classroom Lab in Mangualde Workshop on stop motion Arduino Mbot Storytelling Robots: Bee bot Ozobot Tinkering Labs Trainings: Cody Roby Conference : How to work with Robots Students production of Video tutorials on scratch Creation and publishing videos on YouTube and twinspace Scratch productions Interactive story about a robot´s journey Web café STEM lecture for girls TURCHIA MBLOCK SCRATCH MAKEY MAKEY PIXELART ELECTRONIC SNAP CIRCUITS CODE.ORG CODY ROBY CODE MONKEY TYNKER RUN MARCO production a publishing videos on YouTube Scratch Interactive story about a robot´s journey trainings video tutorial Tinkering Labs for Girls Web café STEM lecture for girls POLAND Ozobots Mbots Arduino Nao Lofi LEGO CODE WEEK, CODE HOUR, SCRATCH DAY and DOT DAY Coding off-line:board games an educational mat for Coding Masters and tasks prepared by teachers platforms such as Code.org or the Scratch program trip to the Copernicus Science Center and two trips to the Ełk Science Park STEM subjects for girls For actvities see: https://code4allproject.wixsite.com/code4all
