The interest on the part of organizations such as the European Commission and the Council of Europe helps the national educational systems to fulfill the tasks of the "Education and Training 2020". It also contributes to realizing a long-term goal of multilingualism, which is a situation where "every European citizen has practical skills in at least two languages in addition to their mother tongue" (European Commission, 2005: 4). The main recommendations of the Eurydice report (2006) encourage authorities to provide: -the possibility of a joint curriculum development, professional development of teachers, availability of teaching materials and the possibility of their improvement, -access to professional networks dedicated to different forms of bilingual education, especially within CLIL. -access to information on EU resources that may help teachers and students as a support. -further development of cooperation between teachers (subject-language, subject-subject) within the school. -school partnerships, in which teachers of particular subjects, including English, can share materials and thoughts. Bearing these recommendations in mind, the main idea of the project is to disseminate CLIL practices, however, with respect to the vocational education context. According to British Council (2014) CLIL and VET are compatible in their shared concern for promoting an ability to use language in real life situations. CLIL is seen as the naturally of vocationally-oriented education, with regard to both its hands-on approach and to its facilitation of multilingualism. Consequently, the CLIL-VET project is aimed primarily at supporting the promotion of high quality language education in vocational schools (CLIL). The project seeks to promote the improvement of the quality of professional education and training through the introduction of elements of CLIL into vocational schools. The project will be devoted to improving language competences in the field of vocational education and training, through implementing the CLIL-VET model and its further evaluation. Moreover, in the process of training teachers of vocational schools, it will expand open educational resources (OER) and promote access to them and thus support ICT based teaching. The partnership will seek to develop, transfer and implement innovative practices, as well as joint initiatives promoting cooperation and exchange of experience at the European level in the field of vocational school teachers’ training. Diverse institutions form the partnership will enable to share different experiences and specific expertise and achieve high quality results by the development of a common framework for teachers in vocational schools and a collection of CLIL lesson plans. The results of the project will have a contribution to the development of skills and qualifications of teachers in European vocational schools. The project will also promote greater coherence between various European institutions responsible for teacher training The CLIL-VET project will be directed to teachers of vocational schools and training institutions for future teachers and will focus on: • comparative analysis on using CLIL in European vocational schools • development of the CLIL-VET Framework for the preparation and application of CLIL methodology in vocational schools; • preparation of methodological workshop for teachers on the application of CLIL methodology in vocational schools, • development of CLIL lesson plans for vocational schools within the given areas: electricity and construction engineering, services and economics, administration and marketing, science and IT, • preparation of a multimedia database of teaching materials for teachers of vocational schools, • development of the European CLIL-VET Network. All of the project outputs will be disseminated and free access of the project results will be ensured by: the multimedia database with the electronic version of, the CLIL-VET Framework, CLIL lesson scenarios and the final reports, development of the European CLIL-VET Network, the final international confernece and publication on the CLIL-VET project.
