The idea for the project was born in December 2016. For both sides it will be the first project of a long (more than a year) institutional cooperation based on the exchange of good practices, specific know-how, sharing the experience in conducting activities and programs that are most important for both sides. For the applicant, it will be complemantary to other activities : national level projects, international projects, youth directed project and researches. It will be a huge chance to share more than 4 years of experience and achievements but also will provide an opportunity to refresh existing methods and ways of work. It will be a chance to get the specific „ know how” of the methods of operation in another environment : - Working with youth leaders in rural areas and small towns; - Creation of a sustainable network of regional and local youth workers; - Conducting media activities (portal) with a regional and not just youth; - Projects in the field of modern education, both cultural and historical. For the Lithuanian partner project will be the way of bringing methods to the new – higher level and expending new fields of activity of international and regional cooperation. Especially because of the chance of learning solutions used by the Foundation for Youth Initiatives. Their knowledge will bring new ideas, in sense of innovative in the previously used formulation of action. Foundation for Youth Initiatives (FIM) from the beginning is focused on the students and youth organizations, academics, nationwide projects . Right now FIM wants to take advantage of the experience of the foreign partner and learn how to act outside of the big cities. The organization of Šalčininkai is motivated by a diagnosis that was declared by them : lack of space, and Lack high level youth media. Using the experience and support of FIM which is running for 4 years a national magazine (monthly) student "Concept", the Lithuanian partner take up the challenge of building a portal for young people. International cooperation will help to complete these assumptions and will allow for such interaction of both institutions on each other, that they will increase the quality of activities and will launch a completely new areas of work.
The implementation of such a project of exchange of good practices within the framework of international cooperation was the first such experience for both organisations. Leaders of both organizations and the people working in it, responsible for carrying out numerous activities and programs for and with youth, have refreshed the previous, several-year formula of functioning through: - a look at the methods used by the partner; - taking advantage of these solutions and models for which specific actions have been planned for some time: the Lithuanian side has seen for a long time the need and necessity to address the issues of youth media and effective support for youth leaders of a student age; while the applicant, thanks to the implementation of the project Academy of Leaders of the Republic of Poland, saw the need to undertake actions for the benefit of youth and youth leaders from small towns and rural communities. Two international exchanges and three project meetings took place within the framework of the project. The Club of the Leader of the Republic of Poland was established. The competition in the Koncept was announced and resolved. A summary of the project, which appeared in the academic magazine Koncept, was created.
